I recently bought a Scenic Dynamique 1.9 DCI (2004) and on the whole I'm very happy with it. The thing is though I'm a relatively new driver and this is the first diesel car I've driven/owned, so I don't have anything to compare it to. My knowledge and experience of cars is extremely basic and limited, so apologies in advance.
The car seems absolutely fine when in lower gears (pulling off etc) and appears to have a decent amount of power and acceleration. However, in higher gears it seems to be sluggish and struggles to accelerate. On a flat piece of road when in 5th or 6th gear it is slow to accelerate, and only gains 1mph every couple of seconds. When going uphill it really struggles and I have to change right down. Is this normal for this particular car or in fact Diesel engines in general?
I don't have any warning lights showing (although the "Check Injection" light did come on for amount 10 minutes last week, but hasn't shown again) and there's no smoke or anything. Any advice or info appreciated!
