espace III 2.0 16v engine whining when cold, originally thought it was the power steering pump until alternator belt snapped and whining was still present. whilst listening the other day i had a feel around and there seems to be a vibration when touching the oil filter which dissapears when the whining does, so im thinking oil pump? engine has covered 170,000 miles any more suggestions?
