hi i have been a kangoo owner since 2000. after losing my first kangoo to overuse and hard work i obtained another just before christmas . same age same model a whole lot less milage.
i have found a problem with my key sometimes it just does not want to work remotely a problem i had with my old kar and it is not the battery. any ideas please help

Car Stuck in French Garage - Insanely Expensive Quote

Hi everyone,

I'm new posting here but have found your knowledge immensely helpful in the past..

Our 2005 Renault Scenic 1.9 broke down in France, about 8 hours south of Calais.

The turbo is a write-off (as suspected), and the French garage - part of a massive Renault dealership, have quoted €2500 :eek: . The car itself is barely worth that!

We've received several UK quotes, all of which came in under £1000, or €1360.

There's no way we'll pay €2500, if we can't get the garage to come down to earth it will have to be a scrap job.

Does anyone have any experience in a similar position? We feel slightly over a barrel.

We are now back in the UK - our breakdown service are quoting £1200 to tow to the UK for repair here. We MAY be able to get the car to another garage in France, but I've found French tow rates to be as high as €200 for a 15 minute trip.

Any advice would be hugely appreciated. What are the chances of recovering some value in a scrap scenario? The front tires (on alloys) were brand new before the trip etc.

Unfortunately if we lose this car I suspect it will be a good few months at least before we can replace it, so I'd rather not have to scrap it! Realistically £1500 is our worst case budget ceiling.

hi guys my clio 172 is leaking but its only under the drivers seat any ideas iv cleared out the scuttle panel and the drainage hole under the drivers wheel arch

Clio 2002 central locking problem

Hi guys and girls :) New member here with a problem that seems quite common although I've not really been able to find a solution using the search function.

I bought myself a nice little 2002 Clio 1.5 DCi last weekend but unfortunately the central locking doesn't work from the key fob :(

When I press the button no light emits from the fob. I've changed the battery. I have to manually unlock the drivers door then press the button on the dash to unlock and lock passenger side and boot. From searching the forums I've come across all sorts of information but I'm a little confused :confused:

I thought it would be a cracked/loose connection in the key itself but I just phoned an auto electrics place near me to see if they could do it and have been told it's not the key fob because the key when put in the door isn't unlocking all the doors/boot through the central locking but on searching the forums I've found that it wouldn't do that anyway?

I've looked about having the key repaired (as I have no idea what I'm looking for inside the key and can't solder anyway) but then I'm reading about the key needing programming?

Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you in advance :)
