MK1 Clio speedo sensor

My speedo has stopped working so I am guessing the sensor is faulty. I have a new one and am wondering if changing it is something the average person can do, or is it a garage job? I've had a look with it on a ramp and it seems to be on the back end of the gearbox.

I can't find any info on replacing these on here or elsewhere really so I was wondering if anyone has any experience/knowledge of this and how straightforward it is or isn't.
