Hello, yesterday I made the stupidest mistake when I drove my Renault Clio III. While I was driving on the highway about 40mph I just wanted to shift gear down from 5th to 4th gear. Accidental instead of fourth gear I tried to turn the shifter back - on the reverse. Of course I couldn't turn to R... just I reacted immediately when heard the grinding sound of my tranny and turned shifter back on neutral.
After this ridiculous incident I didn't notice anything unusual in the behavior of the car and the performance of the transmission.
I love my car so much and I'm a bit worried about my transmission.
I want to ask is there any protection that prevent similar incidents and some damage on the gears?
Is there a chance some kind of "driving" to do real damage in the gearbox?
