ign activated wire for radio?

Hi all, new here and wondering if you can help me with the fitting of a radio in my 03 Clio 1.5 van?

I can not find a wire (in the multi plug or on its own) in the radio housing that only comes live when the ignition is swited on, is there one, if not can i get a feed from the switch somehow? cheers.

Kangoo Accessories-belt routing problem!

Hello all, my name is Dave and I am new to the forum.



I have a 2002 Kangoo 1.9D Refrigerated Van with, i think, the F8Q engine.



I have just replaced the water-pump and alternator; after a 2 day wait for those parts to turn up and in the meantime i have completely forgotten the route the accessories belt takes!! Must be a sign of age :o



The belt travels around: Crank, Alternator, Steering pump, Refrigeration pump, Water pump and there is a separate Tensioner wheel also.



Any help would be GREAT! Thank you

Change car battery - 2010 megane coupe III 1.5 dci

Hi all, now i do know how to do this in theory and have done it with past cars but ive not long had this car and am just checking is there anything i need to watch out for? I have the radio code ok.



1. Does car need to be unlocked before disconnecting the battery but with all with all doors closed?



2. Ive read about having sidelights on before diconnecting the battery to stop power spikes when connecting a new one. Is this neccessary?



3. Will i have any other things to reset when the new battery is installed? I.e reset windows. Is this just hold switch at top position for 10 seconds and do same at bottom position? Again, will this even be Neccessary?



Has anyone changed their own recently and can keep me right?



Any help will be greatly appreciated.



I know this is a pretty standard job and most people will think im being daft asking how to change a battery but better safe than sorry eh.

external air vents

hi,



I have a smell in the car(Renault grand scenic 2007). had pollen filter changed in engine bay and air con bomb let off in cabin, someone said I may need to spray air con cleaner through external vents but I cant find them, could someone tell me where they are to spray it into.

Cambelt doesnt seem to fit?

After some advice currently just finishing off a head gasket change on my 2002 clio but the new cambelt doesnt seem to fit. The cars a 2002 1.4 16v with the k4j 710 engine fitted. The issue im having is the belt ive been suppiled matches the reg and engine but doesnt seem to want to go round everything, I know there a tight fit but this doesnt wanna go on at all. Has anybody experienced the same issue before? or any tips? cheers ozzie

Hi would like to say hello to all members i purchased a megane 1.6 vvt Dynamique 2 weeks ago to use along side my SLK convertible as the megane has rear seats which SLK doesn't i was quite impressed with it anyway on Monday when i went to start it it started up but made a horrible rattling sound and wouldn't tick over after about 3 starts it ran and drove ok all day but tickover was a little erratic. the next day it did the same. so sought about finding the answer on line just as i did when i needed info on my SLK and came across this forum and found it very helpful and very useful information to help me diagnose the problem there were many explanations as to what the problem could be so decided to tackle them first i flushed and changed oil using good graded oil then took the Throttle body off and cleaned it as it was quite dirty also removed the tdc sensor and cleaned that along with the cam sensor left car over night so could start when it was cold and she fired up first time with no horrible rattling noise and ticks over with no erratic behaviour also when driving it feels much more responsive hopefully problem sorted as its been started everyday this week with no problem at all hopefully now haven't got to change the de-phaser pulley so i would just like to thank all members for there valued input into these forums and hopefully i can input stuff myself as i will tackle any job on any car

Audio freeze

Hi all.



I have a problem that I hope someone can help with.



I have a Megan coupe 3 (2010) with tomtom. Yesterday the stero seemed to crash. I can't control it using either the control stork or the stereo itself. The tomtom is working fine but the screen doesn't display any audio information. Also, the electronic dash stays lit even after the car is locked (keyless). It's been like it all night!



I have tried putting the key card in and switching the car on and off several times but to no avail.



Has anyone else experienced this and would perhaps be able to offer a suggestion, so I don't have to face 'experts' at my local Renault dealer.
