STOP and BATTERY light on

Hey guys,



I was on my way home today when I noticed the 'STOP' and battery symbols were illuminated. I pulled over and the car was revving itself up and down constantly. Between 600 and 900rpm. I managed to get home but the car jerked the whole way.



Any ideas what it could be? No fault codes and everything looks normal under bonnet as far as I can tell. :crazy:

trafic 2013 clutch(s)

hi, I was just wondering to what your thoughts are to the experience I am having with my 2013 traffic auto I have owned from new with 24k miles which has just had its first service today which I have been informed the brake discs and pads are all 95% worn apparently so soon with it being an auto????? but the real problem is my van is going into main dealers next week for its 4th clutch yes 4th clutch can anybody give advice or thoughts as getting really frustrated as what to do. Renault uk was involved with the last updated clutch. thanks daz

Sd card

Hi , new to forum and already asking a question. Sorry. I need to find an SD card which is compatible with my tomtom in a 61 plate Megane 1.9 CDTI. Could somebody please advise as to what to look for.

Renault Kangoo 1.5dci 2005 - "what is it?"

Hi,



I have removed the black plastic cover from the engine as one of the rubber grommets was 'missing' and causing the plastic cover to move around.



This in turn caused the dip stick to rise out of it's tube.



Whilst I had this cover removed I noticed that there was a small light grey electrical connector with two wires - white and yellow that disappeared off into the wiring loom. The problem is that the two wires have almost completely sheared off.



My question is (or questions are!): -



What is this switch?

Can I replace it? and if so, how does it come apart?

White smoke and dead battery

Hi all im realy hoping someone can help. I was driving from town then all of a sudden loads of white smoke like fog came out the back followed by what sounded like a faint pop. then 2 second later loss of power. So I pulled over and tried to start nothing no lights or anything. Battery completely dead. It has been raining around here badly and I drove through a large puddle last night and I know the renault megane 1.9 dci ii don't like water. So if anyone can help I'd be great full.

handbrake problems

hi i have a 2001 renault megane scenic and when you pull off or brake there seems to be a rubbing sound. Though breaks are working perfectly fine. Also the handbreak comes up very high but doesnt hold properly.



any help appreciated!

Various electrical problems grand scenic petrol

Hi. All



we have just got a grand scenic 2.0 vvt 54plate and have discovered a few problems when getting home. As mentioned in welcome thread me and the wife are not very good at buying the right car. So here's what's wrong any advice/help greatly appreciated.



1. When steering turned fast even stationary there is a loud crack/clicking noise.



2. Electric mirrors don't work.



3. Window is wedged to stop it falling ( they did mention this one but said its come of its runner you can hear motor working).



4. Radio not working she said had new battery yesterday and just need the code inputting. (A didn't give me a code. B there is no display asking for the code, power button does nothing. The CD changer will not eject however the radio unit ejects CDs and accepts them. Bonus left frozen sound track in there!!!)



5. Because of new battery now comes up faulty park brake with a service and a P. It comes on/off manually and when drive off and switch engine off. (I have had a quick look on here only joined this morning to see a few threads but none that this fault has occurred due to new battery but will have a proper look this eve to see if been asked before).



6. Digital temp display not showing digits but ordered a new one off flea bay.



I have checked the fuses.

Renault kangoo 1.5 2002 problems

Hi all,

Got a problem with me Kangoo.



I have read tons of other problems on here but though someone might know a definate answer without spending a shed of money on it, although, a definate answer maybe hard by what i describe.



Since owning the van about 2 months it suffers from real bad blue smoke and throws the coil light on. I had it diagnosed and it came up with glow plug malfuntion and egr malfunction along with injector faults. I took the injectors out, stripped them and put them into an ultrasonic tester and put back in. I then done a leak off test again as 2 of the pots prior were filling up faster and since cleaning the injectors ( cleaning i mean strip the whole internals out) the leak off tests are similar.



Since the diagnostics I have replaced the 4 glow plugs and the egr was replaced prior to me getting the vehicle.



I have done an engine flush with all new filters put on and used the actual engine flush.



The light came back on after the garage wiped them off and it is throwing the egr and glow plugs back up along with a fault they cant read and advised me to tske it to a diesel place to be looked at. I am wanting to fix the problem myself with a bit of help/direction from you guys as i dont want to throw money at it when its value is not that much, other than the issues it runs really well.



Recently it takes a few more cranks to get it going with a puff of smoke, it seems to run ok until it heats up then the smoke comes and i mean really comes. It still pulls with no misfires or lack of hesitation. Inside the cabin when the engine is warm I can smell like exhaust sweet fumes.

2006 Renault Clio 1.2 Oil Dripping From Engine

Hello folks



new to this forum but looking for a bit of insight into what could possibly be wrong with my clio.



it's started dripping oil from the passenger side of the engine bay, haven't been able to pin point the leak. It drips when left sitting, resulting in fairly large oil patches left over a period of 3-4hours. My car recently had a new gearbox in december and a new driveshaft on the offside in january. I had the car serviced at the start of december and the oil is now absolutely manky again.



Also my engine makes a squealing noise when sitting idle. My mechanic friend changed the auxiliary belt thinking it could be the case but the squeal has returned, the squeal disappears when the car is in gear.



I have no mechanical experience and no access to a ramp etc.

rx4 steering rack

A Friend / Neighbour has a 51 plate RX4 with a clicking steering rack, he's on a tight budget and I have been trying with little success to find a second hand replacement.



is there a rack from another more popular model that can be easily modified? e.g. by swopping the steering arms?

Hi newbie just brought a grand scenic 2.0 vvt privilege

Hi all



Just come across this forum and thought I'd say hi me and my wife yesterday brought the above car. We are rubbish at buying cars never ask the right questions or check the right things. But we travelled 2.5 hrs with 4 kids it was raining and our grand Picasso came up faulty gearbox in the fast lane on way up there went too neutral, no gears pretty scary!! So we ended up getting it. It is clean and nice to drive back, but have discovered a few things wrong with it and was hoping to get some advise on here please.

DF Fault Codes Help Needed

Hi, I've been repairing my 02 Clio DCi 80.



I've just brought a can clip clone from ebay to read the ECU codes etc.



First read gave me a mega long list of faults so I erased them and then went for a short drive. Came home and re-read the codes. The only ones left that keep returning are:



DF022 - Air Temp Sensor Circuit

DF115 - Inlet Manifold Pressure Sensor Circuit

DF116 - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit

DF071 - Track 1 Pedal Sensor.





Long story short, when I got the car she'd barely start, run or had any power. Turns out the turbo was knackered so I replaced that for a new one along with new Camshaft and Crankshaft sensors.



Then when I'd done that lot, she had no power and chucked out black smoke like crazy so I looked at the EGR. Tried cleaning it but still the same. Tried disconnecting the ECU plug to the EGR and that made it worse. Sounded like it had spanners in the engine. So I rotated the EGR round but left the ECU plug connected and it was better but still smoked. This lead me to the MAF which I've disconnected and left disconnected and she runs nice with hardly any smoke.



So I know why I'm getting the Air Temp error code and I also know why I'm getting the Pedal Sensor error Code but I don't know why I'm seeing the other two - the MAP and Camshaft Sensor.



Certainly the MAP sensor could be knackered but not a new Camshaft Sensor?

Interestingly, when I dig deeper in the fault code reader side of CLIP, it says these errors are no longer present but are stored yet I've erased all the codes but these two still return when the engine has been run or is running.



Does anyone have any ideas why they're coming back or how to permanently erase them using Clip V1.45?

I know this has been covered over and over but I can't find a difinitive answer and it may even be related to the MAP error I'm getting -

With the EGR blanked off, should it be mapped out of the ECU altogether? Surely the engine or rather the ECU is expecting to see that warm exhaust gas being mixed in to the intake?



What makes me wonder is the car feels like it's peaked in 2nd gear at 3k RPM. It just doesn't feel right in that respect hence I purchased the clip to clear up all the faults to see if it would put straighten itself out with all the faults repaired and cleared.

OBD Code P0380refers to

The optical sensor provides a high resolution signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) by counting pulses on the sensor disk located in the injection pump. The high resolution is one of the most important inputs by the PCM for fuel control and timing. This test monitors the number of high resolution pulses which have been missed (not detected). It's based on a comparison between the number of pulses that were detected since the last pump cam pulse and the number of the pulses that should have occurred. There are approximately 64 high resolution pulses for every cam pulse.

Symptoms

Many thanks for the advice re getting rear window back up when it goes and stays down all on its own - worked a treat! . . .current problem:



Renault Scenic 05 reg when you approach and it automatically unlocks door. or pull handle and it unlocks and locks when you push little button in handle has stopped working on 3 of the doors the rear passenger side one still works ok. still works ok on remote key push so not the end of the world.



Any ideas on how I can cure this?

RX4 Tips on headlight bulb alignment

If anyone has any particular pointers on aligning the headlight bulbs for an RX4, would be much appreciated.



There is a long metallic cylinder about a quarter of the way inside the headlight housing, trying to align the bulb inside without touching, and getting the bulb itself to sit in the right position (with the cumbersome wire frame cradle) to throw out the correct amount of aligned light is tricky.

clio 2 clutch

I have just purchased a 2001 1.4 clio off my brother in law, more so to do him a favour as he has abused it in the 16months he has owned it and even lost the log book. I the 2 months he has owned his new astra he has crashed if twice!



While he owned the clio on a couple of occasions the clutch pedal wouldnt return and stayed on the floor (like the cable had gone) he had called out the AA who said it was a pin that is common on them and it costs about £20 to fix.



Can anyone here shed some more light and point me in the right direction as he never had it fixed properly but the aa bloke has done something because its working at the moment.

hi ive got a problem with my acceleration and can anyone help when I start my motor the accelerator goes up high revvs and eventually left to tick over it goes down to 10000 revs but when you drive the revvs goes up and down, and the glow plug light comes on its so frustrating
