Fuses checked & ok, connections checked & arn't rusted or dirty, cleaned them anyway. Couldn't be the horn after less than a year on can if? Any ideas? Pictures included below. Cheers

Laguna II V6 (L7X) Rocker Cover gaskets
Hi all,
So my wifes Laguna with the L7X-731 is leaking oil really bad from the rear bank of Rocker Cover gaskets.
I have been trying to get a full set of Rocker Cover gaskets for all 4 rocker covers. But Renault say the gaskets are not available separately. But they do come included with brand new rocker covers. For a very high price !.
It would seem the Gaskets on the 3.0 V6 24v VVT engine are different to the non-VVT version found in the Laguna I, and Espace V6.
Has anyone found a source for these ?. Or should I just remove, clean, de-greese. And use a good Instant Gasket ?.

Renault Megane smells hot and engine fan on
Just come back from a 20 mile gentle trip home in our 63 plate Renault Megane 1.6 GT Line and noticed a humming noise coming from somewhere.
Pulled up outside the house and as i turned the engine off the humming stopped but the engine fan was on.
Temperature gauge appears ok and the heating and aircon was completely off.
Oil and coolant levels are ok as well.
Clutching at straws but does anyone have any ideas what it could be before i take it to the dreaded dealership.

Keycard or reader problem - desperate for help!
Hi all,
Yet another problem with keycard or reader.
I have a 2002 Lag 1.9dci and its been running fantastic for the last few months (somehow!) but the last few days the when I insert the keycard I sometimes have had to take it out and reinsert it a few times to get it to recognise the card and start the car.
Yesterday it just refused to recognise it at all and I just had the red flashing light on the dashboard and wouldn't lock into the reader.
The keycard has been repaired by the keycardrepair about 2 years ago and has worked like a dream ever since (Thanks to Gary - super fast turnaround and excellent job!). Card still opens and closes the car no problem.
I have opened the reader and one of the small tabs that closes onto the microswitches has broken off. Bit of jiggery-pokery and I managed to rig a piece of plastic across the microswitch to ensure that it activates. Back into the car and yep it turns on the electrics ok (radio came on straight away and irony strikes - Gary Numan singing "Here in my car I feel safest of all.....":steam:)
Put the card in and it locks in place but still getting the red flashing light on the dash.
I'm in Warrington and have been round all of the scrap yards this morning looking for a card reader to try but the only 1 I could find was a brown connector block and mine is blue :(
Got a lot of miles to do this week with work and need to be out on the road at 5 in the morning for a meeting at 8, hence the desparation!
Long shot but is there anyone localish who could try swapping the reader to see if that works or is there anyone local that might have a diagnostic to see if it shows up the problem?
If I can't get it sorted it's going to the great scrapyard in the sky as the car is a pure workhorse and not worth spending main steeler prices for anything.

Renault laguna electric window fault.
Hi, my electric window drivers side made a crunching sound. I flicked the switch several times trying to lose the cable and then nothing came from the motor. After opening the door panel the regulator was obviously tangled. Renault quoted 137 pounds foir a new regulator and said if it was the motor this would be 270 as well. Anyway i sourced another brand new reulator for 18 pounds delivered!! bit of a difference there! i fitted it myself but when it came to testing the motor still didnt work. I checked the 3 fuses in the internal fuse box and found there is another 20a fuse what they dont tell you about which controls the back windows. I checked these and still the motor didnt work. I then changed over 3 different motors to the regulator and still it doesnt work. I spoke to reanult and they said it wouldnt be the switch in the door. I tested this switch with a multimeter too and this gave a charge when the switch is pressed. Im thinking is it the wiring loom? is it possible the motors ive tried are duff or is there another fuse somewhere which controls the drivers side electric window. All other electrics work such as the electric mirrors etc. Any ideas????
Renault Tragic rear fog light
Hi,
Had a slight bump and need to replace my rear fog light on my Renault Trafic 2008 LL29 DCI 115 PV LWB CC panel van 1996cc white diesel manual van. Reg LV08 YJJ. I was just about to buy the light on eBay where the seller mentioned that the wiring loom plug has changed in recent years. Please can someone tell me if I need a rear near side fog light with the newer or older wiring loom plug connector. In other words has my van got the new plug or not. This will hopefully help me buy the right one first time. Thanks, Al.
