renault scenic dynamique tomtom 2011 smart key

Hi Guys, for soem amazing reason, I can't find my smart ket, even though I can have only lost it between the car and in the house. Car is 5 yards from front door :-)

Fortunately, I have a spare.

However, I don't like the thought of only having one smart key.

Just checked with Renualt and they want to charge an amazingly gut busting £180 !!!!!

To me that is extracting the urine, so to speak.

If necessary, I will live with one.

However, are ther any legit companies that can provide the suitable smart key for what I would call a sensible price.

Megane 2003 1.5dci electrical issues!

Got a few electrical problems with my car, have done a search on the forum but I cant pinpoint a solution to my problem.



Firstly the car is a renault megane 2003 model, 3 door, 1.5dci.



Over the past few weeks I have noticed that the digital display with the average mpg/mileage was playing up. At first it was just a random symbol appearing in the top left hand corner. Now it constantly flashes all sorts of random letters and numbers. For example average mpg 53.3mpg would change to aver444 5aa. Very strange...what could be causing this? And how big of a bill am I looking at :(



Also another problem is when I seem to have my lights on any setting except lights off when I brake and indicate right the indicator flashes very fast. If I brake, the rear brake light (driver side flashes red and the front indicator comes on and stays on until I stop braking. How do I fix this?

noticed a missing part, that could be adding to problems

Went over to my sons today to recheck wiring and listen for any hissing on the air pipes on his megane 2003 1.4 petrol, sadly we couldnt hear anything distinct and the wiring we could see all seemed secure and unfrayed, on looking at the throttle body where the black plastic air intake slots on, its held in by 2 long bolts that attach it to the engine block.



On pushing and pulling the air intake the left side is solid but the right side bolt is just sitting in the hole, there is no nut or clip for it to screw into to tighten the intake to the throttle body, engine still runs fine when cold it gets a little stutter about every 10 to 15 seconds where it seems to slow down but then goes back to normal running.



could the loose airintake be a cause for kangaroo jumping and loss of power or is it just maybe a contributing factor in your opinion.

electrical issue?

i have a 02 laguna 1.9dci which has been fine for the last year with no issues. last night i tried to start the car and had the fuel injection fault pop up, when trying to start the car the little red light flashed 3 times then stayed on.

previously i did have issues with a fault in the engine bay fuse box, i have pulled this apart with no obvious signs of anything. would it be worth my while replacing the fusebox and wiring harness for engine bay?



i have a doner car ready for the switch over

2001 megane electic fault

i have a lovely old 2001 magane 1600 16v..which is running fine.. the problem is the wipes have stop working on inpection the linkage has cut though the wiring and blow motor ..I have had motor replace and wiring done ...but they still not work ..checked motor and is fine ..I am told that a electric fault on some piece of kit ..which is responsible for working all aux etc I am told that it will be about £500 to buy and then coded by Renault another £200 which is more than car is worth ..but I don't want to scrap as she is a great low milage car an runs fine ... what can I do cant run it manually has to go though this unit ...don't know what it called ?? ideas please..the rest of car runs fine just no wipers .help please is a second hand one the way to go then have it coded by Renault >>help me please

Laguna II - Clutch/Gearbox problem

I have a Laguna II Privilege, 2002, 1.9 dCi, 120bhp, 6 gears.



When I release the clutch (in any gear), it produces odd noise. Here's a video:

It started two days ago. A local certified mechanic says it's probably a "Dual Mass Flywheel", but don't believe him (i had problems with him before).



What could this be?

Grand Espace 2.2DCI MK4 major oil leak

Hi guys, I was told yesterday that my G Espace was leaking oil. So today I investigated this to see for myself. I removed the pollen filter cowling and the engine cover to find that the top of the engine was drenched in oil and the sponge on the underneath of the engine cover was too. :confused:

I then checked under the car to find that the under carriage tray, exhaust, lower wishbones were all covered in oil too. :( It seems to be coming only from the rear of the engine.

Now being that there are a lot of horror stories about 2.2 failures I'm kinda dreading what maybe causing this issue.
