Anyone know the cost when new of a Renault Laguna Sport Tourer 2.0 dCi Dynamique Navigation 5d 2007 (i.e. MK2 Laguna)?

I have bought a pig of a car...
My old Renault Grand scenic 55 plate, which ran pretty well, was written off by some numbskull driving up my rear. The result was I went out and bought almost a carbon copy same year, same colour, less miles :) from a "private" seller.
That was where my joy ended since then I have had to replace the battery (the day after I bought the car home), the mechanism that holds the battery in place is not actually working(can neither tighten nor loosen as there is no bite under the battery bed?!?) an intermittent parking brake warning. a rattle when I start up (almost doesn't start), a lack of acceleration when just started and now my dashboard keeps switching off.
I have been told the dephaser or oil pump needs changing and the electronic parking brake needs replacing nd now I just learned of the known dashboard fault as well.
On top of all that the drainage system from the windscreen wiper catchment area is totally blocked which means it sounds like I am driving in a wave machine after heavy rain.
does anybody know whether a loose battery (and subsequent strain on the various connections) could cause at least some of these issues (electronics wise)
If this is the state that some people let there cars get into before selling I will definitely be taking a mechanic with me next time I go to by a second hand car.

Scenic Mk1 ESP
Hello,
I have recently bought a 2001 Scenic. It is the Privilege Monaco version.
I have a question about the electronic stability program (ESP). There is a light (unlit) on the dashboard for this which matches up with what it says in the car manual. However, the car manual also mentions about a button to disable ESP on the right hand side, beside the rear window controls. I don't seem to have this button.
Does anyone know if this means that the car has ESP or not?
It is an automatic car and I have noticed that the car slightly brakes when you take your foot of the accelerator which seems to tie in with the ESP.
I would be grateful for any answers!

I have a 54 plate megane with 110000 miles on the clock. It started making a noise a couple of weeks a go but very faint and intermittent. But it's gradually got louder. It only happens when the engine is warm and above about 1500 revs. It does it in all gears, neutral, with or without the clutch being pressed, stationary or moving. The performance of the car is fine, pulls well and good economy. When I open the bonnet and get someone to rev it the noise sounds like it's coming from the can belt end. I was thinking alternator bearing or fuel pump or can belt ideler or water pump. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Megane III 2011 - starter issues when stalling

I am having issues with my car. When install the car, the dashboard says that I must press the clutch and start button. Now when I press the start button, the car engine tries to start but it gets stuck, as in the car engine makes a noise but doesn't go the extra mile to actually start. This has only recently started occurring when I stall the car by mistake. It does not happen otherwise. It also only occurs when the car has been driving for more than ten minutes. Other than this issue, the car starts properly when turning on regardless if it is cold or not.
I would really appreciate your opinion as you guys are the experts.
