I never realised this..

Most of us know that you will soon have no need to display a tax disc due to them being abolished but From 1 October 2014, car owners who want to sell their vehicles privately will be unable to offer the ***8216;unexpired tax***8217; the DVLA are really going to clean up on this one.. what will we have to do with any tax left if we sell our car on with say 3 months tax still on it..I am asking this because my other half has expressed an interest on my clio should I decide to pack in driving..

Clio stop light

Hi guys new to this forum.

Ok so in december last year i purchased a 1999 1.6 Renault clio. Great little car pretty nippy also, a few weeks ago i had to get my earth strap replaced it had been on the car since day one, and had corroded, so phoned the AA up and they came out and replaced it for me. Come to my car the next day started my engine fine all my dash lights came on and then went off as normal apart from my stop light and the handbrake warning light. Put my car into gear let off my handbrake set off fine, but noticed my stop light was on. I have checked my engine and it's running fine no knocks or noises from it, can only think its something to with my electrics, iv had no problems like this before since having the car. Does anyone have an ideas before i end up spending a lot of money trying to get it sorted.

Thanks

Ian Bradley

06 trafic immobiliser fault

hi folks.

trusty work van died at a roundabout on way home yesterday. no spluttering or coughing.

had it recovered home. recovery man pointed out the immobiliser light staying on. mobile mechanic said the same thing this morning, also said it was beyond him. it needs to go to the dealer to be reprogrammed.

i have it booked in, but the nieghbour and i got a bit nosey. we found a 30 amp fuse in the engine bay fuse box had blown, and blows each time we replace and turn the ignition on.

i cant find any diagrams to tell me what this fuse is for. any ideas please?

i have photos if needed. i'll try to post.

cheers.

SL19dCi Engine Bay Smoke

My Kangoo recently suffered a broken cambelt tensioner. Initially there were puffs of white smoke from the exhaust but by the time I slowly covered the half mile to my home there was almost total loss of power with white smoke pouring out of the exhaust and also from under the bonnet. There is obviously some major damage to the engine and I can understand the smoke from the exhaust but where would the smoke be coming from in the engine bay? It looked as if it was coming from the bottom of the engine. Tossing up whether to get the engine fixed or not. Kangoo 10 years old but only covered 50K and in very good condition (other than the main component!). I've been told that if the head is dismantled it is almost certain the injector rail will need replacing too as it's almost impossible to remove and replace without damagine - is this correct?

Inertia Switch Location

Hi, I'm looking for my inertia switch. 1994 Clio, French model, left hand drive.

Check ignition on grand scenic 2 -04 petrol

Hello!

i have a RENAULT GRAND SCÉNIC 2.0 -04 (petrol) that i havent used for a year and now when i drive it i get the famous "Check ignition" error and as many others with the same problem the engine losing power on high rpm, and the check emissions lite comes up right after. I read somewhere that the EGR has to be cleaned but... i cant find it on a petrol car. I have read every book i can find and been on the internet for hours but there is only instructions for Diesel cars... so im starting to think that there is no EGR on a -04 grand scenic 2 with petrol engine.

Does any one know?

Thanks Janne

Twingo rear seat latch

Hi all. I just got myself an old style twingo and surprisingly the quirky little car comes with some unexpected features. Like. Reclining rear seats. Unfortunately one of them is broken. Well at least the latch is. Here is what I can tell.

The working latch when pulled lifts a piece of metal what I guess releases the latch. The other broken side does nothing when the handle is pulled.

Does anyone know much about the part and how I could get into it and fix it. Not sure if it's a common problem. For reference it's the drivers side latch (LHD CAR)

Thanks
