Can a dirty MAF sensor increase acceleration ?

Can a dirty MAF sensor increase acceleration ?
Well for the espace 1.9 dci day camper project (see here)

https://www.renaultforums.co.uk/150-...ld-thread.html

I just had a new turbo fitted, with new EGR and most pipework changed, cleaned, new CAT, service.. Inlet manifold degunked. What a difference, feels like a 1.9D again. However even after a couple of weeks blowing all the oil crud out.. I was getting some occasional black fuel type smoke up hills or after a lot of town driving. But not the lots of smoke associated with big problems.. and only some times.

So to track down the cause I made a diagnostic list of all black smoke causes in three categories, air, fuel or electrics. The first thing I did was reset the ECU by battery drain for 30 minutes, and I got a shock. The vehicle felt like a wee rocket of the mark.. considering its size and all the camper gear I fitted in the back, and the pickup was so smooth.. Mind you it is still minus 3 rear sets and the spare wheel. So I was late for work and hammered it, next thing I know other modern vehicles are getting excited and trying to race me, it was that peppy. However after a few short city errands the performance dropped right down, almost underfuelling. So I reset the ECU and bang all this extra power came back. Same pattern occurred several times and was considering fitting an ECU dash reset switch.

Well this at least eliminates air problems from my causes list as split hoses etc are not intermittent. So its electrical or fuel related. I then cleaned the MAF sensor with isopropyl and gentle cotton bud.. a fair film of dirt came off. Re-fitted and now its slower.. yet feels a bit more normal. There is enough power to get around and the power seems more linear with a feeling that its providing plenty of push at its peak 4000 rpm. There is also less black smoke.. still some occasionally though. Less fuel consumption and its air-fuel mix is always the same... so the ECU does not need reset.

So heres my theory, any feedback appreciated. The MAF with a thin film of dirt produces a signal that there is slightly less air (or more ??) and more fuel is added to compensate ? This creates more black smoke.. boosted low down acceleration but threw the overall linear fuel map a wobbler. The ECU then tried to adjust things over the next couple of runs and reduced fuel - acceleration in the process. So cleaning the MAF reduced the boost, but overall have basically restored the performance to normal values… would this seem reasonable ?
VAG/VW Polo experts unite please
2016 (?) model 3 cylinder diesel, owner thinks 1.2 or 1.4 engine, no owners manual, bought 2nd hand - I have VIN and engine numbers but for the life of me cannot find dope on specific engine. My VCDS doesnt speak this polo lingo, and my Autel MD802 while talking to the car, comes up with non-identifiable and unknown error codes that even Google doesn't understand.

I need to help out a friend to get this thing sorted of the limp mode issue ...............

Anybody know how to identify the animal? ............ and what to call it so that VAG can help me in ElsaWin?
Whistling CHRA F9Q812
Hello All,
Been busy with other things like grandchildren but it is time to get back to my problems, not my son's. I still have my 2006 Scenic 2 which I rebuilt the motor of. It had a bad rod and the engine was completely contaminated with tiny bits of bearing material. I replaced the crank and one rod and of course all bearings, seals, rings, etc... then, I also realized that even though the turbo was functioning fine and there was a minimal amount of play in the bearings, with all the metal in the oil I could not say with confidence that the bearings in the turbo would last for a reasonable amount of time. Therefore, I bought a new Melett CHRA. Upon reinstalling the engine, from the first time I started the engine, the turbo has had a whistle from 1,500 to 2,500 RPM. I have adjusted the stop screw for the arm connected to the diaphram assembly several times to try to lessen the whistle but it has not changed in the slightest with the adjustments or with putting 150km on the engine. It is running very well and when I made the "contrôle technique "(France) the emissions were very clean. I called the seller of the CHRA and when I described the symptoms he said he had never heard of it making a whistle under only a very light load at realatively low RPM. He admitted that maybe the CHRA is defective in that the turbines are not properly centered within the housing. I have also talked to another mechanic who mentioned that the turbo can whistle if not properly centered.

When I rebuilt the engine I chose to clean the oil feed and return pipes to the turbo. I used solvents and rags and soap and water and solvents and rags to the point that I am quite sure they were very clean. There was no damage to the old turbo and there was and still are no marks on the turbo housing that would indicate that the vanes have touched the housing. Therefore, I felt there was no need to replace the intercooler - I washed it out with a good dose of diesel and only oil came out - no metal.

I contacted the seller again by email because on the phone my french is not really good enough to press the fine points of an argument. I raised the posibility that the shaft in the housing was not properly centered and therefore the CHRA is defective. In my first conversation with him on the phone and in the following emails he stressed that the only way to properly install a CHRA it must be set up on an air flow bench to properly adjust the stop screw for the variable geometry mechanism. He said that many, many buyers had complained of noise and an improperly adjusted set screw was the primary problem. On their website and on all the websites of sellers of CHRA's, I have not seen it mentioned that for proper function of the turbo you MUST have it set up on a flow bench. I have seen this mentioned on the Garrett web site and on some websites for shops with a flow bench to do the set up. In the emails I noted that the whistle occured from the first start up and has not changed. In the packaging with the turbo was a list of components that must be replaced with new parts with supporting receipts. Oil feed, oil return, and intercooler must be changed for Melett to honour the waranty. Those parts new cost more than the CHRA. In the emails he concentraited on the setting of the stop screw or the possibility of an air leak for the noise. He has ignored the question about the turbines not being properly centered which dirty pipes or intercooler would make none the difference. I have been told that without the reciepts for the new parts Melett would not consider a waranty. (note: I have installed 4 other Melett CHRA's without the slightest problem and have been very satisfied with their product up till this point) Having installed 5 CHRA's to this point before having a problem I feel I have saved quite a bit of cash by not buying the new parts and I feel that having to buy another CHRA is just part of the game.

OK, sorry for the long intro - some of you are probably becoming familiar with this but to get good advice I feel it is important to note what has transpired. Tooooo the questions!!
Has anyone else experienced this problem - a whistle as the turbo "spools up" that is not evident when going down the road unless you are going about 2000 RPM in town under light throtlte or lightly reving the engine at a stop. It is not extreamly loud but very noticible when putting the car in the garage?
If you have experienced this on a new turbo or Chra, what was done to correct it? I was wondering if it is possible to make a measurement from a mounting flange to the turbine assembly to check if the chra is properly centered but the technichian said it is not possible. I have the old CHRA to compare with. I am just about resigned to ordering another CHRA but I would like to feel a bit more confident that the replacement will not also whistle. What are your thoughts on the centering of the turbine assembly?
If you have persisted to read this far - thank you - I look forward to your opinion.

Oil cooler issues Clio Mk2 2004 1.5 dci 65
Hello! Read through the forums but would really appreciate some advice.

I suspect my oil cooler is leaking. There is oil in the coolant. It may be the oil cooler, for which I have a replacement, and a replacement part that links the oil filter and oil cooler.

What is the name of the component please? Is there a seal between this component and the oil cooler that I need to purchase? I cannot find reference to it anywhere online, or where to get this seal from. I don't think the replacement component will have one.

I plan to change these parts, flush the cooling system, and hopefully problem will go away. Engine is fine otherwise. It is not getting very hot according to temperature guage though I wonder if the thermostat may be faulty now too. I don't know how long there has been oil in the coolant. Had MOT and full service in May and only noticed on weekend. I've not been well.

Thank you for your help.

Renault Megane mk2 1.4 16v Throttle issue?
Hey guys, so I had my car go in for the alternator and it got replaced and I got the car back and noticed a whining noise on revving, rough idle and infact permanent 1k+ revs. I assumed it to be the alternator and the mechanic replaced it with another brand new alternator.

The problems not been resolved, both the mechanic and myself have gone round and checked for vacuum leaks spraying pipes etc and no bubbling at all I can't work out what it is? The car has the odd moment where it idles at 750 again or infact 400 believe it or not but then goes to the 2000 mark near enough I'm stumped for ideas, the map sensor seems to work fine, everythings connected fine I checked for head gasket leaks and that appears to be fine, the cars got injector cleaner ran through it so it wouldn't be dirty injectors I'm stumped being honest my only other thought would be a potential gasket leak on the throttle body or the valve not sealing itself on the throttle body itself? Any idea how I could check that? I believe it was cleaned not to long ago and I'm unsure if it was re-calibrated?
Lag II phII cabasse auditorium sound problems
Hello guys.

I've got a Laguna II ph II with the cabass auditorium tronic with frontal 6cd radio.
I'm having problems with his sound. Randomly it stop playing any kind of sound: calls, radio, cd, navigation, voice settings. I ear a POP and it gets quiet. everything "visual" works, I can play with the radio and navigation but just no sound coming from the speakers.
The only way that I have to get sound back is to completely shut down the car (remove card and open/close drivers door) and turn it on again.

do you know what could be the problem? someone told me it could be a solder issue in the amplifier

Check injection and df025

Renault Forums :: Independent Renault forum
Check injection and df025
Hi, first post and absolutely no clue about cars ....have bought a 1.5dci 2008 megane and when on motorway in fourth or fifth above 50mph I have check injection and spanner light on....never happens in urban driving. Car starts first time and no apparent loss of power. Had rac out who said fault comes up as df025 preheating diagnostic connection. In my very limited knowledge this is glow plugs but car starts almost instantly and check injection message never comes on until on motorway over 50 mph. He said it was not an injector as fuel pressure was as expected and car is not missing. I'm feeling vibrations in fourth and fifth gear until I get to 2000 revs tho...goes away then...unsure if this is unrelated problem? Any help gratefully received.
Urgent - CAN Clip
Hi all.
I am urgently seeking somebody with CAN Clip diagnostic and knowledge in the Chelmsford Essex area please.
I recently changed a door lock on my 03 Laguna auto, its now refusing to start (immobiliser light stays solid red when card is inserted, all else works and starter turns, but no start).
This couldn't have happened at a more awkward time as I have several hospital appointments, hence the urgency. Ive searched on line for a mobile mechanic (hens teeth) and am now at my wits end.
Please help.:frown2:
Seat Belts..... desperate
I have a Renault Clio 14 plate. A month ago my car went in as the seatbelt sensor was going off a lot even when no one was in the seat, nothing on the seat and even when the belt was plugged in. I got a new part but since my cars been back in twice. The noise is still going off usually when I go around a corner/roundabout over a speed bump that sets it off and can go 20 minutes straight! However, garage is telling me there is nothing wrong with the car. It is driving me crazy!! Renault have been so helpful and even kindly contributed to the cost as my car was a month out of warranty. They are now covering this part fully under warranty but garage is persistent that there is nothing wrong with the car. Past two times I have had the car back a few days before starting again. I Have even shown a video of this happening to the technian. I just do not know what to do and desperate to just have my car back fully working again. Thank you in

Alignment of TDC with no timing belt
Hi, I have a 2002 Megane that has had the timing belt snap. I'm fairly confident that I can align the camshafts to TDC for piston 1 and align the crankshaft to TDC as well. But, I don't know if there is anything that needs to be done to make sure that the piston is on the ignition stroke so that when the timing belt is replaced, the engine can fire properly. Can anyone help?

Captur Airbag fault DR003
CHECK AIR BAG - this is flashing up on my Renault Capur 2014 and when the garage plugged it in it came up as fault code DR003 Passenger airbag. He tried to clear it for me but it just kept coming back up when ignition was re-started so had to fail its MOT. It is a cat D and when I first got it this message would pop up every so often but has become increasingly common. Now it's on all the time. Can anyone give advice on what's likely to be causing it? Thanks

clio 0.9 tce error codes
hi

i have a 2013 clio 0.9 tce.

once the car has been started and idles for around 2-3 mins if you press the gas pedal, the revs start to become uneven.

revs can go to 2000rpm and sit there for awhile then drop and start jumping from 1500rpm down to 600rpm and that will just carry on and on etc...

driving the car its fine no issues but once you stop at a set of lights it starts to idle real bad 600rpm to 1500rpm so on over and over.

i plugged my code reader up and im getting the codes

df1058/memory- inlet pressure consistency, value outside tolerances.
df642/active-inlet air flap circuit,open circuit

iv cleaned the throttle body and still have the issue.

any help would be great as im stuck with this now as where to try next
'01 Kangoo Electrical Malady
Heres one for you, my 8 year owned, 127k mile (60k with me) KC0B Kangoo has an odd electrical issue, its been dry stored for 3 years and I'm bringing it back to life, only its giving me attitude!
Ignition on, 60% of the time I get all the usual warning lights but no EMS light & oil pressure light flickering, turning the key, nothing from the starter motor. Occasionally the fuel pump will whirr and the lights show as they should but still nowt from the starter... Theres a clicking and a chattering of relays sometimes and on removing the key, sometimes the warning lights will glow and flicker.
I've been through and waggled relays, checked fuses, had a go with a known good ECU and scratched my head but still she resolutely refuses to behave. The immobiliser light flashes, glows steady and the goes out as it should when the ignition is on.
Anyone?

Espace 3 III DP0 reverse auto gear 'slips a bit' the other gears perfect
Hi guys,

As you might recall I have had my Grand Espace for abut 7 years now.

The auto box has always been fine, never a problem, i have changed the oil occasionally, last time some months ago.

Odd thing today - I noticed that when I engage reverse it is a bit slow and if I accelerate as I change it will slip until it engages fully. It is not a soft 'thunk' like the forward gears but takes its time.

The thing is, it might have always been like that and I'd have never noticed because I am never one to bang on the reverse quickly. The only reason I noticed today is that there is an odd clonk from the rear suspension somewhere and I was just going forward and backward rapidly over a speed bump to try to figure out what it could be. (That might be another thread in the future!!!...)

So my question today is whether the DP0 is always a bit slow to engage reverse (compared with forward gears) or is this an ominous sign of something more ugly coming my way?

Maybe time to change the oil again, check the level and such?

Prince Charles has been invited in his role of Prince of Wales to formally open the World Bog Snorkelling Championship in Llanwrtyd.

As he clambers out of his official limousine the assembled crowd gasps as they see that he is wearing a ridiculous looking foxskin headdress. Llanwrtyd's Mayor welcomes him and diplomatically comments upon the strange garb, "I was admiring your unusual headwear your Highness, does it have any particular significance to today's events?" Charles replies, "It was Mummy's idea actually although I did think it was a bit strange, I told her I was coming here today and the first thing she said was 'Llanwrtyd, wear the fox hat?' "

Just have a little think..

Sunroof Bumpstopping.
Sunroof motor seems keen enough, but when closing it is "bumpstopping" and winding back.
To close it yesterday I had to have two of up pushing from the outside using the fob's doublelock feature.
Even then we had to fight it trying to reverse back 3-4 times before it settled into closed position.
I thinking there must be crud blocking it, but I've cleaned it out with my compressor, wiped and lubed it and it's still being a B'.
Now (unless I've cleaned it wrong) I'm wondering if there might be crud in the gearing, or a broken cog.
Directions on correct cleaning are sought.
Are there PTO cables that might stick? what is the mechanism of the s/roof?
Directions on access to the motor and gearing are also sought.
Any advice you guys can give please?
Piccies are always of great help and appreciated.
Cheers.
Espace won't start - air in system
Hi,

I've just replaced the fuel filter in my Espace 2.0 DCI, and now it won't start.
I think I know why but I'm not sure what to do about it.
I've replaced the filter before but this time I forgot an important step. Once I'd replaced the filter, I fitted the housing back in, reconnected all the pipes, and primed the bulb. Afterwards, it wouldn't start.
What I now realise I'd forgotten is that you're meant to leave the outlet pipe unplugged until you've primed it and fuel starts coming out.
So I think I've not got air into the fuel system which is why it won't start.

Any ideas how to get the air out of the system?

Hi everyone, I've just joined. I have a 2014 Renault Captur which I purchased as a repaired Cat D after a driver side front wing dink. Had a renault 19, 20 odd years ago and couldn't fault it so decided to put my trust in another renault. Had a cat D fiat punto for the last 8 years and had no problems with that so thought I'd stay with a Cat D this time too. Had my Capur since Sept last year and now I've tried to put it through its mot I'm having a problem so hoping you nice people can help me. I used to find so much good advice on the relevent forum for my last car. Look forward to getting to know you all.

Headlight adjustment
As part of a permanent move from the UK to Spain, I am importing a 2008 Scenic. To pass the ITV (Spanish MOT), I need to permanently adjust the beam direction from the headlights. Does anyone know if this adjustment is possible from within the existing headlamps units or would I need to buy replacement units from within Spain? Thanks
Facelift Laguna 2 - xenon headlights?
Hi,

Apologies if this is in the wrong place, can't decide if headlights are electronics or bodywork...

I have a facelift (2005 / 55) Laguna 2 Initiale with xenons. Over the last couple of weeks I've noticed the OS headlight getting quite wet, and then that I had no dipped beam. I've switched the bulbs around, and the OS is still out, the NS still works, so not bulbs and it's the ballast that's got wet, I guess. And changing the ballast means taking the headlight out, which means taking the bumper off. Yay!

While I have everything apart, given that water is getting in to the headlight somewhere - dry it out somehow (hairdryer? silica sachets?) or just replace it? And if I'm replacing it - are the units common across xenon and non-xenon and its just the electronic gubbins that are different, or do I need a specific (and no doubt expensive) xenon headlight?

Thanks very much for any help, much appreciated.
04 scenic 1.5 leak
Hi folks , we have an 04 1.5dci grand scenic that last night started leaking coolent pretty bad last night. I got under the car to try and see where its coming from but it's a steady fast trickle that's coming down the engine but can't see the source.

However , it doesn't leak with the blower fan is on speed 3 and set to hot but if I try to change it to 2 or 1 or to colder it starts leaking again.

Really hope someone knows what this is because of as I'm a bit stumped.

Thank you in advance for any advice and help

Vonhaus 230V Impact Driver
As requested.
Search for "Vonhaus 230V Impact wrench"

Bought from Domu ebay shop- they're the main importer- at £39.99, this is the corded version. There is a cordless model at £80 odd.

Supplied with a pair of double-ended 17-19 and 21-23mm sockets, although I didn't use these -I got a Sealey impact socket set.
It's easy to handle, not too heavy, but if you've never used one before as I hadn't, be careful and make sure the socket is on the bolt before pressing the trigger, because it's a beast and takes no prisoners. There's a single speed setting, so just wait for it to wind up to speed before it starts clicking which signifies it's really getting to work. On a stiff bolt it can seem to take a while, but hang on, it will undo.

It's stable and light enough to use one-handed or at odd angles. The reverse switch is a simple slider. Maximum torque is quoted at 500Nm which is overkill, but of course means it's not working too hard.

This was bought for undoing a crankshaft pulley bolt, but before that I changed some brake discs and it had no trouble with the caliper bolts (setting 105Nm). You can even use it for angle tightening- one flat of a bolt head is 60 degrees, right? Just mark it up with a magic marker.

There are places it can't go, of course, because it's about 11" long, but for everything else, it's a life-saver. There wouldn't have been room for a long enough breaker bar for those caliper bolts, for example.

I had no prior experience of impact tools, in fact I didn't even know there were electric impact wrenches, but this was suggested by the forum and I recommend it for DIY duties- I don't know about durability, yet, but it seems well made, with a metal nose casting and easy-grip plastic body.
Finally, it's a great boy's toy. You need one>:)

The passenger side brake disc looks worse then the drivers as it is all rusty and not shiney but drivers side looks shiny. as hence why I thought something was wrong.

Anyone have any ideas to issues?

A friend of Donald Trump's told him that he had a fantastic dream the other night.
There was a really, really big, huge parade in Washington celebrating Trump. Hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of happy people lined the parade route, and cheered and cheered when Donald went past. It was the biggest celebration Washington had ever seen. Really Huge!
Donald was very impressed and said, "That's really great! The best! By the way, how did I look? Was my hair OK?" :wink2:

Renault Clio - MOT Ambiguity - Rear Exhaust Silencer
Hello,

I had an MOT completed recently and the extortionate price of fixing the car has led me to fixing as much of the car as possible myself. I have fixed 90% of the problems that arose so far, however I can't seem to find any info on the failure of the 'Rear Exhaust Silencer' being insecure. I have bought an exhaust mount as mine was worn out.

I would greatly appreciate if someone could advise me on how to fix / check / secure my rear exhaust silencer. Picture of MOT message attached.

My car is a Renault Clio 2004.

Many Thanks

Left hand drive headlights?
My car went in for its MOT last week, it failed on a couple of things and the headlight aim too low.
All the faults were rectified, took it back and the MOT tester said that my headlights 'kick' or spread to the wrong side. Another garage said similar last week, that I had 'French' headlights.
I have had issues with the headlight last year, a wrongly fitted headlight adjuster, the part was for a different model.
So it is posiblethat its been in an acident and someone has fitted left hand drive car parts.
How will I correct this, headlight units, even second hand ones, are expensive.that last owner was a right bodger, lol
Renault wiring connector
I have had to remove my headlights on my Megane and the multiplug connector wire has come out. Do they split, so I can put the wire back in, or can I buy a new connector?
Its the wire going to the sidelights that has come adrift.
2010 Kangoo 1.5 dci 70+ ticking noise from engine
looking for advise, ive just bought a kangoo and find that its quite noisy, i would describe as diesel tick? ive cleaned the injectors and pump with liqui moli diesel purge and its now really quietened it at all, has anyone found that these can be noisy or if there is a solution? its not the usual injector washer noise its more of a diesel noise, i can link a video to youtube if anyone would like to listen to engine?
Megane scenic wont start.
We have a 2005 megane scenic 1.6. It has always had issues with the key card but with a slight push to one side once inserted it has worked fine. The car was being used daily and then one day it just wouldnt start. It recognises key is inserted but when start button is pressed nothing happens at all. We managed to push start it to drive it home without any issues. As soon as we switched off engine it wouldnt start again.
Would this be a starter motor problem or more likely the start switch or relay???
Any help would be very much appreciated

F9Q in Suzuki Grand Vitara (EGR removal)
Not directly related to Renault but more to the F9Q 1.9 DDis Diesel. Supplied to various other car manufactureres.
Mine is in a Suzuki Grand Vitara in Australia and has many of the same issues for driving style EGR DPF then Turbo.

So for those who are looking from a different perspective how to get to the EGR attached is the process I followed access. But I was unable to get t the plug and will have to make up my mind on if I cut the cable and resolder.

Here goes

Trafic LH29 2012 back doors problem
I have had a recurring problem with the barn doors at the rear of my Trafic. They would appear to be shut correctly but when locked with the fob it became obvious that they were not properly closed.
I found that if the door with the handle (Left hand one at rear) was pressed shut with both hands, one on the handle and the other further up, the door would engage correctly and would then lock with the fob. I know it is properly closed and locked when the handle swings freely.

Yesterday I tried to shut the door single handed and pushed at the upper position. The top catch engaged but the middle and bottom did not so the door is visibly not completely shut.
Applying pressure at the handle or the bottom of the door does nothing, it refuses to go in any further.

Attempting to open the door does not work either.
The door "thinks" it is shut as all catches appear to have snapped into the closed position so that if the fob is used the central locking does what one would expect and the handle moves freely. Press the fob again and the central locking tries to unlock but the handle resists a pull. It seems that the top catch is prevented from releasing by the tension in the door. I feel that if I pull the handle any harder it may break

I have access into the van via the SLD and could disassemble part of the rear door locking mechanism but do not know the best approach.

If I removed the 3 torx screws holding the top lock keep plate might it release the tension and let the door open?
How would you tackle this problem? I would be grateful for any advice
Megane 2 sports tourer tailgate recall
I just happened to be looking on the MOT web site and it mentioned a recall for the high level spoiler, due to the posibilityof it becoming detatched.
Has anyone been for the recall? My Megane estate is now 12 years old, and the high level spoiler is now held on by screws. It is not 100% as it should be, is there any point in booking it in for the recall?

Puff noise on acceleration
Hi Everyone
Whilst finishing doing an oil change I had the bonnet up and the engine running.
Blipped the accelerator and heard a brief noise like air escaping from a hose.
It only happens when you first press the acceleration
Got the wife to blip the accelerator whilst I looked and felt for anything amiss but couldn***8217;t find any leaks.
It could be air entering the inlet manifold but I***8217;m unsure?

Anyone have an idea if this is a fault or normal?
Just not noticed it before

Cheers

Steve

Clio Mk2 Starting Issues

Clio Mk2 Starting Issues
Hi all,
I'm struggling with my car and hoping someone can help.
I have a 2002 Renault clio authentique, 1.2 litre.

Over the last week or so my car has been struggling to start and sometimes when driving it'll just cut out. Usually when stopped idling. Other times at low speeds in first gear.

The issues were getting worse and worse until today when my car refused to start. Wouldn't crank at all.

I had a friend bump start it and it seemed fine until I turned it back off where it refused to start again.

I've recently changed the starter motor and the batter so I doubt they are the issue.
I haven't seen any fault codes using a Bluetooth obd reader but that could be wrong.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks
1989 Renault 5 Campus Heater Blower Intermittent
Real quick question, now the 5 is running I've turned my attention to other bits & ive noticed the Heater blower seems to work now and again. I've pulled the actual fan out and checked that and it spins up perfect, I've tried another known working heater control panel and still the same.

When it stopped working the other day I gave the dash a bang and to my suprise they started working again so I'm guessing it's a loose connection somewhere? Are there any known weak points which I could check? I've got another heater box ready to go in but I really don't have the time to pull the full dash out unless I really have too and if it's a dodgy connector somewhere it'll probably not solve it anyway.

Thanks in advance.

Clicking wheel
My car has just been for an interim service and mot now I have it back I've noticed a clicking noise coming from my front driver side wheel it only does it when driving forward no noise when I reverse, nothing in the tyre as I had a new one put on today, is this something that could have happened during the service/mot ?
Help for newbie please
Hi we have a Renault grand espace v6 3 Ltr diesel. Been great since owning it. Recently a small amount of black smoke could be sceen on heavy acceleration not a lot but noticeable. In my wisdom I thought a fuel injector cleaner might clean and maybe help..... 30 miles on route to a camping holiday the carry started massively struggling and vibrating as if an injector was down. We nurses the vehicle another 100 miles and filled the tank thinking if my chance it was anything to do with the additive / cleaner..... no problem now exists and struggles to get over 30mph. Changed air and fuel filter and car ran perfect for 5 miles and now the shaking is back?!? Any ideas would be gratefully received.
No injector faults found on plug in however an intake air flow thing had a fault... faults cleared and told to try it and fault still exists
Auto Start Stop

Scenic gear change procedure
Hi,
My daughter has just bought a 2002 Scenic 1.6 fidji.
She is having trouble finding 5th gear but particularly 6th. What is the correct procedure? Do you need to use the gearstick collar to change into these gears.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
