Vauxhall Movano Rear air suspencion problem

Renault Forums :: Independent Renault forum
Vauxhall Movano Rear air suspencion problem
I just bought this vauxhall movano second hand so i don't know if it was always like this or not.

The bus used to be an NHS ambulance. It has normal suspension on the front and fully pneumatic suspension at the back, I think the air suspension where fitted by the ambulance converter and so it look different to the other thread about air suspension which i saw on this section of the forum.

The bus:
Vauxhall Movano SWB 3.3T
2.5 Dtci

What is happening:
- Overnight the rear drops to it's lowest (which i beleive it's normal for air suspension?)
- When switches on the compressor come on
- After 5 minutes the rear as lifted as high as it will go
- After 10 minutes static the compressor stop making a noise

- There is no noise of any air leak or nothing suspicious sounding, if park for a few hours the bus stays ups

Question:
- is it normal for the air suspension to go down overnight? I would think so but what do you think?
- should my suspension rise much taller than this, to have front and back at a similar height? the airbag seems to only go up 4-5cm no more. And when looking at the bus from the side the front is upper that the back (wheel to bumper in the front is above 12cm, wheel to bumper in the back is only 6cm).
- it seems that the compressor works and do its business so could it be what control the heigh the issue?
- is there any point to pump air in the valve which is under the bonnet or this would only do the same thing the compressor is already doing?

How hard to find a mechanic which can takle this kind of problem? I've been in touch with glide-rite but i live in orkney and their nearest workshop is in glasgow which is really not an option. If the fix is hard/expensive i'll have to look for the conversion to leaf solution.

Renault Kangoo Van -adjustable headlights
Hi,
I own a 2014 Kangoo Van (1.5 diesel).

Shortly I’ll be relocating to France and would like to register the van on French plates.
In order to pass the CT test (French mot) the headlights will either require replacing (from a lhd van). My daughters bf brother is a mechanic and he thinks I won’t need to change them as they are adjustable. Renault lights are very expensive in France and a friend of mine who lives out there bought the lights for his off eBay Germany.

Can you confirm or help me please ?
Thanks in advance
Tim
Whistling CHRA FIXED!!!
This cloudy day is looking sunny to me. The CHRA in my Scenic 2 has given up its whistling habit.:grin2:All it took was throwing caution to the wind. I searched and searched for leaks - changing gaskets , etc....
I had set the stop screw for the variable geometry to where the original was set and tried turning it up to half a turn in or out to see if it would make a difference - it did not. I have read that if the stop screw is not screwed in far enough the turbo will spool up to soon and can cause overboost and engine damage. If screwed in too far the turbo will not spool up quickly enough causing low performance and carbon buildup which can also damage the engine. After all I had tried it was looking like I would have to send the complete turbo to a shop to have it calibrated on a flow bench. I have not been able to find a shop in France so it would involve 50 euros shipping to the UK and back plus the 100 euros for the calibration. I decided - SCREW IT - so I did. I fugured it was spooling up too soon so I screwed the stop screw in 1-1/2 turns. I noticed the whistle started at a higher RPM. I screwed it in another 1/2 turn and maybe it made a little less noise. I screwed it in another full turn and glory be - it is great! I still notice a slight sound when accelerating from a stop so I believe the urbo is spooling up early enough. It has great power and so there it will stay! Thanks to those who tried to help. I never would have guessed that from one chra to another it would be necessary to turn the set screw 3 full turns.
Cheers:toast:

Megane 2006 Drivers Window doesn't work - wire seperate switch possible?
Have a Megane 2006 mk2 convertible with a problem with the drivers window, as in it doesn't operate with either the drivers door switch or with the operating of the roof.

Is it possible to wire up a new switch directly to the Motor? Is it possible to remove the Temic unit and just put a positive and a negative wire directly to the motor somehow? I believe there's no terminals on the motor itself, I just see little poles when the Temic is removed, is there a way to connect a power directly to the motor?

I've replaced the Temic unit and it made no difference.
When pressing the drivers switch there are no noises to hear from the motor or any noise at all.
When checking for continuity at the switch etc, I can make the drivers window go down and up sometimes, but it doesn't always work when testing.
I also swapped the wires in the block conenctor of the driver switch to the drivers door passenger switch and the drivers switch then operated the passenger window suggesting the drivers switch itself is ok.

I've checked the 6 pin connector wires at the switch and this is what I've determined the wires to be doing:

grey/white 12v constant, goes to 0v when passenger window switch pressed down and its window goes down.
white/orange 12v constant, goes to 0v when passenger window switch pressed up and its window goes up.
black wireA makes driver window go down.
black wireB makes driver window go up.
yellow wire has 12v constant.
black/grey wire = 0v. (Am I correct in assuming this is an earth?)

Both 25amp fuses and the 40amp fuse are ok.

I'd appreciate any help in figuring this out, if wiring up a direct switch is possible it might be the easiest option for me.
What does this light mean in my 2006 clio?
I can't find anything online or in a handbook to tell me what it means, I've checked my reverse lights and they are working fine. Anyone have any idea?

2006 Megane 1.5 dci Cambelt change & Torque wrench settings
Hi all, my first post hope someone can help with this.

I’m planning on doing the cambelt this weekend (if the rain holds off lol) I’ve got a couple of questions I hope someone could answer. My car is a 2006 1.5 dci the 106bhp version.

First question, I’ve just had a quick look (it was quick it started raining) for the plug hole for the tdc tool. I know it’s on the front gearbox end of the engine but I couldn’t see it from above. Is it behind the starter motor, accessed from below or am I going blind?

Second question, does anyone know the correct torque wrench settings for the tensioner, waterpump and crank pulley? I’ve done a little searching the internet and keep reading slightly different torques. It would be great if someone could give me me the definitive torques. With the floating crank sprocket I really don’t want that slipping.
Espase which does not work on the start button
The car is a Renault espase. 2.0 t model IV 2003 .Cambelt jump became valve salad so I switched all valves took two months and get together with parts and jobs. The battery was unloaded . new battery .When i press the start button it just clicks.

Has pulled a new signal cable from the starter motor, it nudges it on plus then the engine is running.
So i suspects that a relay or fuse It's not crankshaft pulse transducer
I wants help if it goes, have a clip v173 thanks in advance Sincerely, Izzy71

Braking system fault **Fixed**
Hi guys, I have a 2013 Renault Megane Estate mk3. The other day I was driving to work and on came a warning light break system fault. I tapped the breaks and everything seemed fine so I drove a bit further and the warning light went off. I had a look at the pads when I got home and still lots on them. Checked break fluid and looks fine. Since then the warning light flashes on and off constantly. Is this a known problem? Any ideas how to sort it without costing a fortune?
Thanks guys
Master 2.5 DCi 100 new-to-me questions
Hi,

a couple of questions regarding a 2005 Master DCi 100 (2.5) I am trying to get to know better. I was hoping to see more info in the "Driver's handbook" than I've found, but realised that this handbook covers so many differently equipped variants that it cannot be more specific than it is. E.g. it stated that the fuel tank is either 70 or 100 l - is there another way of knowing which capacity tank I have than filling it up? Such as "the LWB ones have the bigger tank" or "those with the less powerful engines (DCi 100) have the smaller tank".

Does this engine have a particulate filter fitted?

Timing belt; I assume this is to be replaced at say 60.000 miles intervals. Any age limit of the belt? I assume it is better to have the engine run regularly than if it stands inactive for extended periods of time.

Can anyone recommend an independent mechanic in the greater London area for getting a new timing belt fitted?

Many thanks!

Enjoy management lights on car runs fine!

Hi, hope you don't mind me hijacking the post, sorry, new to forum. My Renault grand Scenic failed it's mot today due to warning lights being on (have been on for 2 years and passed 2 mot's with them on) car runs perfectly fine and has done since lightning came on. Warning lights are; check anti pollution system; check injection system. Because of the new mot rules, today it failed ***x1f625;. Garage can't fix it and scared it will cost a small fortune! Incidently, the emissions test passed fine so clearly something else? Thanks for you advice in advance! Lisa ***x1f917;.
Weird Electrical Issue - 06 Renault Master
Hi All,
I've got a strange issue with the electrics on my 06 Master, no interior cab lights come on, no radio, no clock, no flashing immobiliser light, when I lock the van the hazards don't flash but they do when I unlock the van, if I lock the van with a door open I don't get a beep to let me know that a door is open, also seems like the alarm no longer goes off. This all came about after I disconnected the earth from the battery in order to charge it as it was flat, once I reconnected it when it was full, the above started. Checked all fuses under the steering wheel and they're all okay. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA
Renault Master 2015 rear brake pad pins.
Hi Everyone,

Can anyone tell me the size of the torx bolts on the rear pads in relation to a 2015 renault master long wheel base dci 150 please? it looks to be in the region of t60 to 70 but its a one off job and my usual torx bits aren't big enough for commercial vehicles.

I cant seem to find this information anywhere, hoping some kind is either a Renault tech or has worked on them and willing to share the exp.

Thanks in advance.

IndyCar Set For 28 Car 2019 Entries

Renault Forums :: Independent Renault forum
IndyCar Set For 28 Car 2019 Entries
An increase in part-time and full-season 2019 IndyCar entries could occasionally result in 28-car grids that would cause problems for some circuits on the calendar, Global Motorsport understands.

IndyCar tracks such as Long Beach and other street and road course circuits could struggle to provide pitboxes for a field approaching 30 cars.

The Toronto street course reportedly has just 23 spots on pitroad, while Road America is understood to be able to slightly expand its pit-space by realigning its pitboxes.

Series chassis builder Dallara told Autosport that it had sold more kit than it had expected ahead of 2019, with a mix of orders for new entries and existing teams wanting to buy spares or newer chassis.

Is this normal?
Hi guys, I have a 2004 Grand Scenic and noticed earlier that if I tap the brake pedal 3-4 times in quick succession the car stalls. Luckily I had stopped at my house when I did it(discovered because I thought I heard a noise when stopping and wanted to see if I could replicate it.) It does it every time I try. I noticed(although I dont think its new) that when I release the brake it makes a whoosh sound like its sucking in air, it lasts less than a second.

So, is this normal? It still brakes as it should :)

Cheers, Phil
Mk3 Renault Clio 07 1.2 16v Indicator Light Switch Control Stalk - Codes
Hi, recently took the car in for the MOT and it failed because the light stalk ins't staying on all the time... been like this for 3 years never really been a problem as you push it a few times and itll engage. I have took the unit off and looked inside everything looks fine so im guessing it's just died...

Im looking for some advice as I of course need to replace it it's off the car so that hard part is done. Well so I thought I am trying to find a replacement part and im struggling to work out the codes on the unit. I have seen tons online at all different prices for the same year of car but all the codes are different. Of course I am purchasing a used part as brand new prices are just silly for what the unit is... The codes written on my unit are as follows

88102001 057

0031071664

now from the process of elimination im thinking that the 88102001 is the number im looking for, but does it need to be identical is the 1 on the end really that important will it have issues connecting to my unit? Same wire same unit just different codes. It's all a bit daft really... ive seen identical units but different codes too so im thinking it's a batch code on there with a unit or where it's made etc etc.

Any help would be great.

regards,
Hello All
So, as per my welcome PM I am introducing myself.

Hey everyone, since I passed my test 10 years ago I have mainly owned Renault's. Started off with a '97 Laguna, which was great until I trashed it! then got a '96 Megane for £735 which lasted me for 3 years. Replaced that with a '01 Megane. Then replaced that with a '07 Megane. Which had a few issues, the fan kept burning out, all of the windows ended up stopping working and oonly one of the pushbutton door locks actually locked the car. For a change I went with a Peugeot 207, which was awful and I traded it in 5 months later for a '10 Clio GT.

The Clio is seeming a really good car, but there are little things with it that I want to smarten up as it is starting to show it's age!
Fault code meaning?
Can someone tell me were to check as im not sure what ( driver side rear inertia circuit; open circuit permanent) also speed sensor problem but car drives ok.i leared it but come back again

2008 Master 2.5DCI computer fault
Hi all,
My 2008 Master recently had a new alternator fitted.
Since then the on-board computer has stopped working - it will show mileage & trip metre but the MPG / Average speed / distance to next fill, etc etc just shows up as a series of flashing lines.
Is there any way to reset the computer?
Thanks in advance
2007 clio dynamique clutch juddery
I have a 1.4 Clio dynamique 2007 . When morning when I left my feet from the excelertor. The Clutch begins to grab a little-almost like a Jolt. When the engine is relatively warm there is no sign of it. I m not sure if it is the disk on the OSF that my needs replacing. It engages fine-does not slip out of gear. Can anyone advise?
New owner with questions
Hi guys, I have just bought a 2012 trafic from work which has full service history and was well looked after. My intention is to kit it out as a camper and I have already got a complete set of windows ready to go in the panels.
I want to carpet the back of the van but there are intricate sections to get over and I was wondering if anyone has any photos of vans in progress so I can see how they did it?
Especially the roof, joining to the rear of the cab matting and the panels over and by the arches are the areas I can't figure out.
Would like to carpet onto metal as much as I can but appreciate there will be a need for some ply lining.
Also, I have the original stereo in place which has a basic one din screen / clock above. I want to change for a better stereo which I have, will the screen work with another stereo other than the original? I also have a spare sat nav double din screen out of another trafic and I could fit this but I am not keen on a remote to be able to use the sat nav. Does the screen operate as a touch screen and does it display other radio information?
Thanks.
Airbag warning light in hot temps / Tyre sensor warning light in cold temp
Hi!

First of all hope its ok to post this, I did search forums beforehand and found similar problems to mine but no real answers. I have a 2007 Clio Dynamique auto. When its been a warm day I always get the Airbag warning light and the amber spanner on the dash - it then disappears after about 5 mins driving. When its been a cold night I then get the tyre pressure sensor fault, amber spanner / check tire pressures and then sometimes Stop puncture! which beeps and comes up with a red STOP sign on the dash.

It happened this morning, the first cold morning in ages. I'd got check tire pressures for about a week beforehand on both front tires but I have checked the pressures multiple times and they're fine and not losing air either. This morning - stop! puncture. Indicating both front tyres had punctures. Neither appear to and I'm suspicious as it seems unlikely I'd get two punctures just like that.

I'm currently leaving it to see if the warning is gone when I go out later once its warmed up a bit but its annoying and worries me.

Is it a known issue / anything I can do besides go to a garage?

Clio 2008 Air bag issue

Clio 2008 Air bag issue
Hi,
My good lady has a clio 1.2 2008. The air bag and service warning lights have been coming on intermittently for ages. Today I went out to try to find out the problem. AGAIN. When I jiggle the ignition key the light goes out. Comes back on after a while, so I jiggle the key and off it goes again. Is this a normal fault and if so is it just a case of renewing the ignition switch? I have read about the wires under the seats but they do not make the lights go out after pulling them apart and rejoinuing them, only the jiggling of the key in the ignition does.
Thank you.

Renault Clio 1.2 16v Dashboard inop?
Hi, ive got a clio 1.2 16v the dashclocks seem to have stopped working, no rpm or speed working and the digital dash at the top is not working so can't see mileage, temp or fuel level.

The fuses are not blown and when running the car the speedo and rpm needles flicker/jump sounds like a relay clicking.

Does anyone know how to test these dashclocks or is it just find a secondhand one from a breaker and fit and forget till next time:laugh:

Kind Regards

N/S side load door leaking rainwater at top of Renault Master '08 LWB HR
Hi, I recently bought a Renault Master '08 LWB HR and when closed the side load door is closed it isn't sealing against the rubber edging at the top or the front, so a lot of rainwater is getting in. The door looks ever so slightly bent at the top front and I'm wondering whether that is pushing against the rubber stopper behind it and causing it not to seal? When driving I can see that the door sits out slightly from the body of the van.

Anyone had this issue in the past, and if so know how to fix it?

Scenic 2010 Spare wheel
Hello - hoping someone can help. Our 2010 reg Scenic Privilege Tom-Tom has a missing spare wheel. I am trying to find out what would have been supplied with the car originally - would it have been a steel wheel, an alloy, a space-saver?
The wheels are secured by four studs.
Answers greatly appreciated as i need to source the correct replacement prior to a long journey next week.

Teething problems, 2011 Grand Scenic
Hi, Have just bought a 2011 Grand Scenic and I'm having a few teething problems.

1. Every time I start the engine it tells me on the dash that one rear seat belt is fastened, when no belts have been fastened.

2. There is a droning noise at low speed.

3. Tailgate rattle that I can't pin point.

Any help appreciated.

There's been some scumbag called Carl going round breaking in to people's houses near me for months, but the police can't catch him. The weirdest thing about it all, is he was breaking into people's houses just to ruin their washing machines by putting bricks in to them & turning them on!!!!!
Really weird if you ask me... Anyway, just read that he was found dead in an alley coz of a drug overdose.. It's never nice hearing of someones death, but on the bright side, washing machines live longer with Carl gone.
Espace 3.5 V6 - Drive belt (serpentine belt)
Hello,

I'm new to the Renault forums! We just picked up an 2005 Espace 2.5 V6 a couple of weeks ago, so far so good.
As expected for an older car there are a few small issues I need to resolve. One being the electric passenger seat adjustment is jammed and the other is a screaming belt at start up.

On startup it sounds like the drive belt is screaming for about 20 to 30 seconds. After that it's fine. I tried putting some some talc and tightening the belt tensioner without any success.
I see that there is two different belts available for this engine. I'll have to find out which engine code it is (Not sure of the difference manual/auto?).

There are two belts on the engine, not sure if the both have tensioners? I can't find a diagram of the belts online and haven't had a chance to jack it up with the wheel off yet.
Not sure what the second belt is driving either? I can see one goes to the alternator etc. which I suspect is where the noise is coming from when it slips. Guessing the pother is for power steering as turning the steering has no effect on the noise.

Laguna ii - No indicators or hazards
Hi Folks,

Problem time again. Driving to work this morning when out of the blue the indicators stopped working. When I turn the stalk either left or right the direction arrow on the instrument panel comes on and stays on until I turn the indicator stalk to off. They were working when I left for work but now no chance.

The hazards are a no-no as well although the switch light flashes as though they are working. I've searched the forum for this problem and the consensus is that it's either the hazard switch or the UCH. I've disconnected the hazard switch but still no indicators.

Will the hazard switch being removed cause this fault? Does a good switch have to be fitted?

When I lock or unlock the car, all indicators flash as they should.

I've read that the UCH can be changed but you have to change the ECU and steering lock along with the card. Obviously they all have to be matched i.e. from the same car but the Heynes manual says that if the UCH has been disconnected it has to be re-programmed. Anybody know if this is true and if it is, is it expensive?

Sorry to ramble on but I wanted to cover as much as I could.

Cheers
It's all getting technical
A few weeks ago I had an engine warning light come on
Got the AA to read the codes and it came up that the O2 sensor bank 1 and The Camshaft sensor bank 1 were showing faults.
Got these changed along with the O2 sensor on bank 2.
No warning lights and the car ran better for a while.
My mechanic suggested checking with the fault reader again and now it is showing fault code DF092. Which I believe translates to a O2 wiring issue.
Not sure if anyone has had the same issue and solved the problem?
The mechanic has suggested that it maybe something to do with the VVT solenoid so I have asked him to change the sensor on the gearbox bell housing.
The car still starts every time and still runs ok all be it a bit low on umph. No lights on the dash or messages

Grateful for any thoughts?

Cheers Steve

TDC Sensor Megane 2006 Convertible
Hi all

Came across this site and despite lots of information about TDC sensors, for love nor money can I locate mine on my 2006 Megane convertible.

I took the battery out, try etc etc to hopefully find it underneath the thermostat where most of the posts on here say it it and show pictures, but it is not there, looked everywhere, infact spet 2 hours this morning trying to locate it. I need to clean or replace iot, my symtons are almost certainly the TDC centre.

Can anyone please help with this, where is it likely to be located please?

I will greatly appreciate anyone help with this to finally solve this mystery

Renault Clio 2010 1.5 diesel - engine won´t turn over

Renault Clio 2010 1.5 diesel - engine won´t turn over
My car won´t always turn over after driving over 30mins or driving many short distances in a roll. You just hear a click when you tunr the key. Normally it will star over a one-three attempts.
There was one time it didn't start at all, rang the break down service and then of course it started no problem (I had let the engine to cool down 1,5hrs).
I have new battery and mechanic said he reckons it is not the starter as it never does it when the engine is cold and it doesn´t always do it when the engine is warm.
But it is highly annoying issue as I kinda need to plan my stops (cant got to supermarket straight after work etc.).
Any ideas are welcome!
Intermittent fuel problem
Hi. I'm hoping someone can help me with this one. My son has a 2008 clio 1.2 petrol. About a month ago he broke down and was transported back to my local garage with a suspected faulty fuel pump. I sourced a fuel pump which the garage fitted and all seemed well. After about a week my son said that the car had cut out a couple of times just for a split second but was then fine. As the fuel in the tank got lower (down to about 70 miles left) he said it was cutting out more frequently especially round right hand bends !!
When he puts more fuel in, the problem goes away until it gets low again.
I've had a bit of a look online and some people have talked about tanks warping but my feeling is it's a fuel pick-up issue.
I can't seem to find anyone with this exact problem!!
Any help would be appreciated
Movano 08 hesitation
As above I have a 2008 movano 2.5, it started hesitating on pulling away and puffs black smoke at times, I have changed hte MAF sensor, glow plugs and now the rail sensor they made a little difference but the hesitation/power loss is still there when pulling away, if I unplug the MAF sensor it goes ok but really blows out black smoke but there is no hesitation, any ideas before I torch it and go back to transits?

Clio IV 2015 0.9 TCE - beeping sound with inserted card
Hello,

I have a strange issue with my Clio IV 2015 0.9TCE LPG. As you can see on video, when I insert card, dashboard starts to beeping, but without error on display. It is very annoying. Any Ideas?

Signal stops and I everything is okay. Car drives normally, as usual - nothing wrong seems to happen.

It is always the same sound signal pattern.

Lacking power on mountain roads
I have a nice comfortable GRAND ESPACE 5 DOOR ESTATE (2001) 2.2 dCi MANUAL 5 Door(s). I am taking my car into a garage because whilst being on a motorway on an incline, my speed went from 100km down to 40km, other drivers behind were not pleased obviously. When I reached the top the car improved and the speed increased. I have been informed its probably to do with the turbo. (no idea), if it means a complete change of Turbo what am I looking at paying for the job.

Also with the information given above, what is my car model, or how can I find out if its a Race, Expression or Privilege?? Also when looking at other threads people mention mark numbers (roman), what is mine please.
1985 Traffic 1.6 new engine
Please please can anyone help.
Bought a Renault camper 1.6 petrol and engine popped on deliver. Starts over heating dreaded white smoke. Can I get a engine for this 1985 model and where from. I'd rather spend more on than loose £2000.cheers

Removal of Robotic Gearbox Unit Trafic
Hi
I live in France and you would think I would be able to get problems solved for my Trafic (Nissan Primastar). Not a chance.

First dealer quoted over 6000 euros for replacing everything connected with the auto gear select but without a guarantee they could fix it.
Next dealer quoted for replacing the Engine Wiring Loom just short of 2000 euros, changed it and no difference, so I am assuming it is the robotics unit and I have found a company that will test it for me and let me know if it is faulty.

So to finally get to the point of my thread can anyone let me have a copy of the Renault instructions for taking this unit off and then I can send it away for testing.
