Our Espace IV in France has about 140K kms on the clock but nonetheless used to drive very well. It started overheating on a motorway journey with the computer advising us to stop and cutting power on hills.
After limping home and taking it to the local Renault dealer in France, they found coolant leaks and replaced the radiator and expansion tank. That didn't work and now they have advised we need a new engine as there is a problem with the 'joint de culasse' (gasket).
I know this isn't a great deal of detail but someone else was dealing with the issue in a rush as I wasn't there for the repair so this is all the info I have at the moment.
Would be grateful if anyone can advise as to the most likely issue from known problems on this Isuzu engine? When the car was cold there it still seemed like there was the normal amount of good torque so this seems pretty drastic.
