Hand brake issues

Hi all wondering if anyone can help ?? I have a 2005 1.9 turbo laguna. I was having a lot of problems with the electronic hand brake so fitted a manual one. The manual hand brake works perfect but on my dash it keeps asking me to apply handbrake. Is there any way I can bypass this message or turn it off ??
