Hi there, Just registered today!
Always used the forum as a guest for any queries and always found the answer due to the wealth of information on here and the wealth of experience of the members.
HOWEVER!, Been stumped for a week now with my own Guna and and can't find the solution anywhere!!......Help!!
Was using the car (03 Laguna II 1.9dCi 120) normally last Saturday and had completed 2 journeys in it with no problem. However on returning to the car after a shopping trip (3rd journey of the day) I put my key card in the reader, radio and blowers came on, but then no ignition lights and nothing from the Start/Stop button. Retried, still nothing! Immobiliser LED still flashing at normal rate.
Checked fuses in cabin and under bonnet, all OK, tapped relays under bonnet, no difference!
After 45 mins called the AA who attended, checked battery voltage (13.2v), Start/Stop switch (OK) and fuses (OK). Was recovered home as obviously the electronic steering lock rendered the car untowable!
Read several similar posts on the forum but they all have either the car turning over (mine doesnt get this far) or the immobiliser light either flashing fast or solid. (mine just at normal rate)
I have so far done the following:
Tried new card reader (immobiliser light then flashes fast)
Tried new Stop/Start button (no change)
Replaced reverse light switch on gearbox (I had also lost my reverse lights 3 days previously so replaced this as I thought the car may have thought it was still in gear and not start!)
Changed battery in keycard for new item (no change)
I still have my old Laguna (clutch failed, but same model and year) so have a plentiful supply of replacement parts!
If I was to remove the (fully functioning) UCH, ECU and card reader out of the old car are they direct replacement or would anything need reprogramming?
Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am getting near my wits end....hence my user name!!
Thanks in anticipation
Chris
