Hello,
Firstly please forgive me for any stupidness, it's my first post on here and I'm doing so on behalf of my husband. Also I'm not very technically minded when it comes to cars.
We have just got back from honeymoon and have been away for around a fortnight. Before we left, my husbands Clio was starting fine but we tried it on Monday and it won't start at all. The lights, wipers, dashboard lights etc all seem to work ok, the central locking still works fine but when you turn the key in the ignition the red immobiliser light flashes very fast and there's complete silence from the engine. There's no ticking sound as if it's trying to turn over, no 'grumbling' or horrible noises etc, just deafening silence! I've googled the problem and found it could be to do with the immobiliser but any other suggestions from people that know more than me or have had the same problem would be great. We don't really know if it's worth taking it to the garage or whether we'd be better off scrapping and getting a new one. We can't really afford to do either! So the most economical and worthwhile option is what we're after.
Many thanks in advance :)
Laura
