2011 1.5 dci clio occasional non starting but goes of a bump ????

I've read the many helps on the forum similar to this problem but is there any upto date advice please.



The car's done 75k miles starts from cold all the time but once or twice a month usually after a short run of 10 -15 min to perhaps the shops is left for an hour when you try to start it it won't.

The battery is new that failed a few months ago so the starter spins the engine fast enough however when the problem occurs if you bump start it it goes in half a turn. To bump it though you still have to crank it with the key otherwise it won't start.

I bought it second hand from a Renault dealer and it occurred twice while under their 12 month warranty but they found nothing other than to suggest small amounts of dirt in the diesel pump but no fault codes exist either.

But it seems to me that it could be the stop valve on the pump as when electrical current is drawn by the starter it could be starving the stop solenoid, or am I talking nonsense?

any ideas would be much appreciated
