X reg Scenic cutting out

Hi all. New to the forums so not sure if posting n the right place or not. Basically we have a 1.6 petrol X reg scenic. As of late it has started to cut out while driving. To me its almost like its run out of fuel. Ive been trying to see if there is a pattern to the cutting out but cant put my finger on it yet. One minute it feels like its when you drive up a hill then it starts playing up. Almost like the fuel has washed back across the tank and away from the fuel pick up? In the past 3 weeks it has had new coil packs and all filters changed. With that in mind part of me was leading towards the fuel pump. But then after searching the internet ive added fuel pump relay to the list and tonight after searching the forums ive also added idle valve? The reason being as today the wife said that when she started the car the revs picked up to about 2000rpm and only dropped to normal again after driving for about 2 miles.



So to recap...car cutting out while driving but with no pattern as to when and today engine started but held high revs for 2 miles.



Would you say im looking in the right direction by thinking, Idle vale, Fuel pump relay, Fuel pump??? If there is anything else i might be missing ill be pleased for the help as need to get it sorted just to keep the Mrs's off my back.
