Meg 3 ,early 2009-early 2012 there are 4, 1.5dci engine types. Im talking about the base block and compression ratio.
Either side of that production range and mandatory EU euro 5 equipped cars to be sold after jan 2011, vvt vs fixed vane turbos, various fuel pressures, dpf non dpf etc etc,Im not so worried but engine internals, is the compression ratio a good guide?
The 85 bhp version has cr 17.6.. kinda oldstlye diesel higher cr.
90 bhp=15.2,105 bhp=15.4. 110 bhp =15.2
Taking out the 15.4 cr as maybe shaving an extra couple of mm off the cylinder head in production or perhaps even a different thickness head gasket, and that all 4 versions have the same quoted bore and stroke
Is it
(a)reasonable to guess for general purposes that the 85 bhp version has different internals(at least in the head area) to the other 3? and
(b)follow that on to take it that the 90,105 and 110 are the built for higher power ,torque and fuel pressure versions ,dependent on mapping/turbo type etc?
