re-starting this thread as my last got deleted...
I recently purchased a 1.9 Laguna 130bhp model.
having had 3 serious petrol tuning projects this is now my serious family car... that i got remapped on the 2nd day or having it. :)
so, Pre-Map
1.9dci, 100k miles. decent condition. engine seems sound.
I went onto a private road to do an acceleration test with a friend on the stopwatch. 4th gear only (so no gear changes to smudge times) from 1,500rpm to 4,000 rpm. which was about 33mph to 90mph. very slight incline on this road, nothing major.
did 3 runs, with the best time being 19.1 secs.
next day got the car remapped. driving around the block, the pull the car now had was by far greater. 2nd gear now has the tires chirping as it comes onto boost.
so, we did the test again. same road. 3 times. starting from the same place.
best time was 12.95secs !!!
HUGE difference.
so, i went to the dyno yesterday to see what the figure is. I appreciate this is only an After dyno, but it serves as a good guide.
the result...
174.1bhp @3,800rpm 272lb-ft torque@2,000rpm
for comparison, on paper the 2.0TD Laguna GT is 172bhp and 268lbft !!
bearing in mind the car is 130bhp on 'paper', this map is the best part of a 50bhp jump. fantastic.
best £250 iv ever spent on a single mod.
