Clio Mk2 1.2 16v (53 plate)
Issue/s
Drove after 1hrs switched off and guess engine temp to be mid-temp certainly not cold. 2-300 yards engine went limp with both engine and ignition lights warning lights on. It didn't die but had limited throttle response (couldn't rev past 2000) and virtually no power. Parked and restarted and got home, the engine seemed fine although both dash lights still on.
Got OBD2 usb and limited easyobd s/w which indicated a few things inc Map, TPS and misfire on #3. Reset all and went through physical clean and inspection. Cleaned Throttle Body, checked plugs, re-seated loose Map by adding PTFE around plug. Engine run bad because hadn't fully re-seated injector plug. After sorting that, everything was fine for a week.
OBD shows Lambda 1 operating within range i.e 0.45v then varying to 0.2 to 0.9 going from open to closed circuit.
Current symptoms: 50/50 works OK but can run lumpy and hesitant especially on cold start. On start can idel to 1-1,500 revs then fall to normal and stutter at circa 700 revs, then bounce back and after a few pedal revs seems ok but lumpy. Sometimes hesitant pulling away and then catching full power and kangaroo start. BUT with no engine or ignition warning lights.
From reading forum + others I guess it could be TPS, MAP, Engine Temp, O2, and or TDC sensors. Given the above symptom descriptions my thoughts go to MAP and or TPS. I will re run OBD from cold to warm to recheck O2 sensor and have multimetre to basic test other sensors etc.
have little money to just replace sensors at £20-£40 a pop and could do with your input
