Hi all,
I do object to being ripped off by company's for what are essentially generic parts so I hope this little story will save some of you some money.
The front fog lights in my Scenic were not working so after checking the fuses and hearing the relay clicking I bought some new bulbs. On changing the bulbs they did not look blown at all so checked the bulbs with a meter and found that they were good. The switch was switching the relay on and off, you could hear the clicking, the lights were lighting on the dash so it must be a faulty relay. The relay just above the fuses on a Scenic 2002 Part Number 77 00 414 484 with the numbers 29 201 041 on the second row are around £21.00 from a Renault garage with the dreaded Vat. You only need the 7700414484 number to search for a compatible part. You can then find compatible parts here

The link above shows the compatible Bosch part that is available on a well known auction site for £5.96 + £2.60 P&p.
Better still is the compatible part

This shows a WEHRLE J. 29 201 045 which is available on a well known auction site for £3.50 including P&P
This also shows the WEHRLE Relay

There is also a NAGARES MRIS/12-20 for £11.99 including P&P from the same well known auction site.
Some difference from Renault pricing.

As with any part check all relevant factors, 12V for cars, 24V for big trucks.
Check the pin assignments correspond with the part you are replacing.
Some similar relays have a resistor not a diode across the 1/2 stroke 85/86 terminals.
What difference this would make I do not know so be careful when ordering.
For these prices I would not bother with a used one as it would be probably be nearly worn out anyway, and some are asking silly prices for used ones anyway.
These relays are used in more than one location and on on a host of Renault cars.
Hope that this saves you some money.
Obviously if you buy from some more expensive makers like Rolls Royce and Mercedes to name but two the prices will be sillier than Renault.
