I have a 2010 Laguna 111 2.0dci 150 FAP estate which has done 107000 trouble free miles. It is telling me it needs a Renault service as it had an oil service last time Renault have quoted me £160 which is cheaper than my indie but according to their spec only includes an oil and filter change and the usual checks which is exactly the same spec as the oil service except for a couple of checks. I am thinking of doing it myself as at least the fuel and air filters will be changed! When do Renault specify doing those filters? £160 is a lot of money for an oil filter, some oil and a plug into the computer! Still with labour what it is these days!
Is there anything I should be wary of doing it myself?
I also need discs and brakes all round but the quote from Renault would mean I would have to cancel Christmas for the next few years. My Indie wants £460 + Vat to do it. Is it a difficult job on a modern car? I was a mechanic when I was younger so basically know what I am doing and manage all the work on my Rover 75 CDT.
