Clio Front wheel knocking

So I have an 05 plate clio and for the last few days when I've been turning the steering wheel to the left there was a slight knocking from the front left wheel. It sounds like a bit of plastic scraping, it also happened when you reversed. Now it's got so bad that even when just driving forward it's continuing to make the scraping noise. It's got so bad I've just stopped driving it, I've looked under it and can't see anything. Any suggestions? Obviously it's a bank holiday weekend so I don't want to end up gettin charged loads taking it to a garage just now.
