noise coming from the front renault grand scenic

i have a Renault grand scenic 1.9 diesel, a month ago a triangle with a p and service came up on the dash, I took it to a local garage who thought it was the parking brake switch that needed replacing but when a new one was put in it didn't clear the fault so they put the old one back. When I got the car back a loud noise kept coming from the front of the car while driving, it sounds like a whirring a noise and comes on and off when driving almost making my ears pop. I took it back and was referred to someone else being told that the noise and the parking brake fault could mean the back parking brake needs replacing. this was unfortunately the case and cost 600 to fix, although they were told about the noise, I picked it up yesterday and still on the dash is the p and service and the noise is still there, I have no idea whether I should panick about it or wait, any ideas what this loud noise could be???
