scenic 1.4 mrk2 2000 model

Hi guys the last few weeks my car has just started playing up to start, Was washing car and cleaning the other week and car would not start, battery klight was ok serv light on ok turned key made a groan and would not turn over, but yet started with a jump leads straight away. done this a couple of times now?

any help would be great
