Breakdown after cam belt change

We have a 52 plate 1.8 petrol Laguna. Had it in a local workshop today for a sump reseal and new crank seal inc cambelt kit. Managed a grand total of 6 miles before it packed up - engine sounded tappety, then started to lose power, then wenr into limp mode then died all together and will not restart. They also said there was oil around the coil pack due to spillage. Is there anything obvious that would cause this or is it just faulty parts/ bad workmanship or a combination of both? It also lacked power - had to have my foot to the floor to get up a small incline. Sorry for the long post, but just want to arm myself with info before I go in screaming and shouting tomorrow!!
