Clio II Central Locking

Hi, New to the forum and my first post, bought a 2001 Clio for my son (first car), know of a few problems with the car such as;

• Air bag and service light stay on


• Sunroof Leaks


• Gearknob rattles around due to knackered engine mount


• Can only start when holding the lock/unlock button in on the remote

All of which appear to be VERY common problems, but one other thing I've noticed is the central locking isn't working on the drivers side (5 door model), it clicks and you can see the button trying to move up or down.



Is this the actuator sticking ?

if so can you lubricate this with WD40 etc. ?

or is it a case of changing the actuator/motor ?

If it needs changing is the 3 door the same as the 5 ?

Is ebay the best place to go ?
