I have found that the ECU on the Megane 1.6e Cabrio has a corroded pin, looks like water ingress may have caused this and then its possibly shorting out. ECU Pins are now being cleaned but ultimately it may need replacing altogether.
Renault are mentioning BIG numbers to supply a new ECU but not mentioned costs regarding any possible re-coding, so assuming that this will be extra!!!
There are used ECU's available on Ebay with identical part numbers etc, but my question will it definitely need re-coding? The immobiliser is the early type fitted to Meganes.
If it does need recoding is any special software required or is there a manual way of doing it? (Like there is with re-synching keys etc)
Engine Code: EAO/F
ECU : Siemens

Renault P/N: 7700105979
Thank in advance
