Idle not maintained once drive is selected

Hi I have a scenic 1.6 2004 auto which will start and maintain idle in park. As soon as I select drive it loses power and dies. Advised to fit a new throttle unit, this has failed to remedy the problem. No warning lights are showing or codes found during a diagnostic test. Any ideas?? Im at a loss with this car.. Thanks:mad::d
