Hi, I couldn't find a thread with this in so I thought I'd let you know my fix.
My 61 plate Grand Scenic TomTom suddenly came up with "No Maps" error and the time only read out when the engine started.
We took it back to the dealer under warranty but they didn't have a spare courtesy car and so we said we'd come back again. They did suggest trying another SD card as it probably was the cause and it wasn't covered and would have to charge.
So, knowing that if it was the card then it was likely that it was a corruption of whatever file system was on it I thought I'd see if TomTom Home on my Mac would repair it. I'd previously had a TomTom device and would update it and back it up on my mac.
As soon as I connected the SD card then TomTom Home popped up and gave an error saying it couldn't fix the card.
However it also said an update was available for Home, so I ran the Home update and after it restarted the app it again recognised the SD card as a device and suggested an update for it. (One problem is that it only supports one device so I had to change my log in to the new device.)
After a back up it wrote several new updates including a new ROM to flash the hardware in the car.
Once it finished it said to take it out of the computer and put it back in the car.
I did this with the car device off and when I switched it on it started about 15 minutes of updates for various parts of the system and warned me not to use the Start/Stop button on the car or switch the system off.
It seemed to take ages but eventually after several restarts it was all back.
The added bonus seemed to be that the Live Services trial was started again and it has even updated the maps and cameras. Including the new A9 average speed camera positions which are only a few months old. New look to the graphics too.
Hope this is helpful, not sure how often this happens but I was very glad I didn't even have to spring for a new SD card and I have new services.
