Hi all,
I've been trying to get to the bottom of my handbrake issue. Basically the handbrake has stopped working on the drivers side. It works fine on the nearside. It has rear disc brakes. After closer inspection I found that the arm that the cable fixes to is moving freely (very freely , with no resistance compared to the other side). I took the dust cover off the back of the caliper to have a look at the mechanism and basically the lever is trying to operate the small cam but its almost like the "adjustment screw" that the cam is supposed to push in is already in and I can't get it to come out. I was expecting To find some wear in the cam and mech but it's all like new. I have taken the pads out and wound the piston back and then put the pads back in and pressed the brake pedal to try and reset but it hasn't worked. Please see attached photo. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Shaun.
