Renault laguna 2004 diesel

Hi Again , I am not getting anywhere here with my question. Removing The water Pipe from bottom of Rad will not empty Block as An experienced Mechanic Did this Years ago on My renault 9 and the Block cracked because there was still water in it ,Is there anybody out there that Knows anything about Renault Lugana Engines ???
