Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can point me to where I can find the multi-timer unit in a Scenic 1.
I'm trying to locate it as I have a problem with the alarm.
Sometimes opening the doors doesn't bring on the internal lights so the alarm doesn't detect the doors have been opened - and so rearms the alarm and locks the car - the alarm then goes off when it detects movement in the car. When this occurs it seems that there's no voltage on any of the door switches - the supply seems to come from the multi timer unit according to the Haynes manual. The only way to get around this is to get the keys in the ignition quickly and power the car up.
Other times opening the door does bring on the internal lights, but the alarm goes off immediately, despite the car having just been unlocked. In this situation sometimes it takes ages arming and disarming the alarm until it shuts up. This can take ages sometimes.
I think this points to the multi-timer unit, but I don't know where it is. Do any of you techie types know where I can find it?
or...... does anyone have any ideas on what else may be causing this problem.
Thanks,
Marcus.
