Hi everyone, I am now on to fitting a new Gates Timing Belt Kit, I have done Timing Belt kits before mainly on Peugeots where there is a hole in the flywheel for the pin to sit in to, this is a whole new kettle of fish, I have my camshaft, and belt and pump lined up, but the crankshaft is a bit of an add one, it does not seem to lock in anywhere just rest on, it quotes in the instruction manual
" Insert the crankshaft timing pin, Turn crankshaft slightly until crankshaft web stops against timing pin "
Now I am not actually usuing the correct pins, never have, I use drill bits of the same width, I dont want to get this wrong so if anyone could advise I will put a really good word in to Santa for you.
Regards, Darren.
