Hi Guys,
I've purchased my Megane just 3 moths ago and recently I've noticed that I never heard the turbo whistling.
After a quick visual inspection, the connection of the vacuum tubes doesn't make sense to me.
The vacuum tube of the turbo wastegate is attached directly to the vacuum pump (red tube on the photo).
While the vacuum tube of the EGR solenoid is attached to the the intake manifold, just after the intercooler (green tube on the photo).
I'm not much of an expert in turbo engines but I read that the "stupid" way to control the wastegate is by using the vacuum from the intake manifold. In addition, it seems logical to me that the EGR solenoid should be connected to the vacuum pump in order to operate the EGR valve whenever the ECU is in the mood.
I suspect someone mixed those two vacuum lines.
What do you think?
Can anyone check those connection on a similar engine? (f9q 734 engine).
Best regards,
Igal.
