no flashing /or red light on brake handle

Hi everyone well the red light on wife's car(58 grand scenic diesel ) on the electronic brake handle does not illuminate at all ? no noise from motor , no back brakes at all could this be the motor in it ? if so anybody can tell me where to get a new motor besides buying from renault ? these electronic brakes can be stripped down and parts fixed by a competent DIY but take care not to turn rear wheels at all or faults show up , all cables can be renewed or replaced with drilling and brazing but am getting to old to keep crawling under car now lol
