Hi,
I have a Y Reg Renault Scenic Mk I, automatic 1.6.
It has done ~90,000 miles. Before Xmas the cam belt snapped and I reluctantly had it repaired by an engine specialist as the car is very practical (bikes and dog!!). It was a borderline decision as to whether to get it fixed... I did!
However, this week a problem with the gear box has occurred. I jumped into the car to pop out. I attempted a 3 point turn, reversed, then when I put it into gear it wouldn't move whatsoever! It will reverse, but in D, 1 or 2 it will not move. It revs but will not engage.
My question is thus: -
Considering the age of the car and recent history, is it worth spending the money to fix it or should I just call it quits?
Cheers,
