I have solved this problem in both diesel and petrol driven cars. I have noticed they take the same fuse/relay box. Most of the time the box will be water damaged and either a live circuit or earth will be discontinued to the starter relay. By taking a small electric wire, attaching it to the body then running it along the bottom side of the box while the car in s on, will trigger the car to start immediately.
