Good day members,
I am hoping for some advice. I have a Auto 2011 Grand Scenic 1.5 Diesel Expression. On a recent trip I experienced a slight splutter (loss of engine power) when travelling along the motorway. It felt like I hit some water on the road. No messages came up on the dash. This happened about 200 miles into our trip. The same splutter happened with no apparent reason about 4 times again in the next 200 miles but no apparent pattern. About 20 miles from our destination I tried to make the splutter happen and I accelerated heavily whilst going up a steepish rise and it happened. I took it in to be looked at and a braking fault came up on the diagnostic check. The garage could not find a real issue as I could not replicate the splutter with the mechanic in the car.
On the return trip after about 200 miles the same thing happened except a red warning flashed on the dash and telling me a failure has occurred and to pull over when convenient, this message only flashed for a few seconds and then disappeared to be replaced by a hillstart assist error. This error also disappeared after a few seconds. The vehicle seemed to travel ok. It happened again and I pulled over at some services and switched off. I then pulled away and a check gearbox message appeared. I switched off again and restarted the car and message disappeared. I proceeded with my journey for another 100 or so miles and then the car really started spluttering when going up hill or under strain. No messages or warnings appeared. I kept going as we where very close to our destination.
The vehicle is due a service in 500 miles and has about 38 000 miles on the clock. I am guessing this is a sensor issue but not sure where to start. I live on a island in Scotland and I don't want to go to the cost of having a dealer spend days spinning some yarn to me and costing me a fortune.
Any ideas or similar symptoms out there! Please help.
Thanks
