Clio mk2 2003 1.2expression airbag service light code 179 help

Hi been trying to get rid of service and air bag

I've taken to garage about 6 codes came up then cleared codes then just one remaining

179 front side sensor circuit,driver short circuit

Am I right in thinking the is drivers sill impact sensor ?????

I've cleaned contacts

And still airbag light remains

I'm going to take a trip to scrappy in a while to source part

Am I right in thinking as soon as part replaced as long as not faulty light should turn straight out with out needing yo be cleared ?????
