I have read the thread which puts this down, more often than not, to a failed inlet manifold gasket.
My cars symptoms seemed to fit so I have just finished replacing the gasket and have got the car started again and all seems well based on a short test drive.
However, I'm a bit disappointed that there still seems to be a noticeable breeze, even at idle, coming from the oil filler cap when I remove it - perhaps this is normal - or I need to do the job again :crying:, or, it's something else. My problem was, maybe still is, the dipstick being ejected and the engine then ejecting all, or most, of its oil. This happens after sustained high revs, for example on motorway runs when pressure can build.
Can someone with the same car (or engine, the 2.2 dci in 150bhp form is fitted to other Renaults too), obviously one running well (that may be rare...:d..), test the breeze from their oil filler cap at idle and tell me that the breeze I'm still getting is probably normal?
Thanks.
