Hi Everyone,
Still battling high oil consumption on my dci 1.9 Megane. I changed the turbo about 4 years ago thinking it was that as there was a lot of oil in the intercooler etc. I've since been doing a lot more motorway miles and noticing the consumption a lot more. Same symptoms as before.
Been doing some reading and I think I might have an issue with excessive crankcase pressure caused by either worn rings or stuck rings. I have done the usual cleaning of the drain from the filler, that was originally full of gunk but this hasn't fixed things.
I have read about 1.5dci getting stuck rings and Renault doing a double flush? I called the dealer up but they were next to useless saying they have never heard of this issue/procedure. I managed to give them a part code and ordered 2 bottles of their own flush.
Has anyone done this double flush, any tips? Has anyone poured this directly into the cylinders and left it soak over night? This is sort of a last ditch attempt before I decide if the rings need changing.
Cheers
Andy
