First post. My Laguna 2003 1.9 dCi has a problem when partial throttle is applied. I notice this when driving at a constant speed, either on a 40 road or on the motorway.
The power will dip for a moment, cyclicly every 2 seconds. With every dip there is a puff of black smoke out the exhaust. This just goes on and on. It varies in intensity (i.e. how much power is lost with each dip) but it's almost always there.
If I apply a little more throttle, such as going up a gentle incline it goes away until I'm back at minimal throttle. The intensity gets worse closer to 2000 rpm I drive.
What could this be?
