Hi all, this is my first diesel so I am quite clueless.
I've read horror stories about the dci turbo failing and now I'm paranoid.
I have a 2010 Megane 3 dci and I can hear a whistle/wherring sound when accelerating, however it also happens when I take my foot off the accelerator, for example slowing down and stopping at lights. I've heard that a 'siren' sound is bad news. Its quite audible, albeit easier to hear with the windows down.
I also presume that this car has a turbo.. and that's what this noise is.
It does not make any sound when the car is idle in neutral.
