My Megane has started to act strangely. Tonight the stop message came on the dash along with injector warning message. First time this has happened. The car is a 2004 model with 100k on the clock. In the last few weeks the car has been revving very quickly when putting the foot down but the revs are not transmitted to the drive chain. I immediately assumed that must be something to do with the clutch.
When I got home the car started again no problem and seemed to run ok. I took it out for a quick test drive and it was stalling as soon as I slipped the clutch and rolled back in reverse. I managed to baby it out on the clutch and when I was driving the stop and service lights were coming on and more alarmingly the car was stalling even when going at around 20mph.
The engine actually sounds fine and there doesn't seem to be a lack of power but there is obviously something majorly wrong.
When I bought the car it had a tuning box on it and I left it. I have had it for around 34 years and there hasn't been any issues with the engine apart from an alternator. Lots of other issues but the engine has always been sweet as a nut and has been serviced once a year.
