I have just completed changing my passenger side doors an my Grand Scenic (it used to be a private hire vehicle so had a few dents on the passenger side due to some disgruntled customers).
Anyway trying to find information on exactly how to remove the handles was a bit vague, Haynes and Dialogys show a picture of a hook tool going in the access hole in the door, that's about it.
I have attached some pics of exactly what you should be looking for.
I used a skewer with a 5mm hook bent on the end and its just a question of pulling the metal lever.
Once you have refitted the lock barrel, don't forget to push the lever back.
