03 Clio - Airbag light on dashboard

Hello,

Please apologise for my lack of mechanical knowledge. I have a 2003 Renault Clio which is up for MOT in October. Unfortunately, I have a problem with the airbag light indicator coming on the dashboard.

I plan on purchasing a new car in the coming months, however would like to give the car to my brother, does anyone know how to resolve this issue and would this issue cause a failed MOT?

So far I have...

- Replaced the seatbelt pretensioner on the passenger side
- Ensured the connector under the seat is secured (the one with the yellow clip)
- Tried disconnecting the connector under the passenger seat altogether
- Tried hooking the car up to a cheap error code reader but it returned no errors.
- Tried moving the seat backwards and forwards and checking all cables are secured.

Does anyone have any idea how I can resolve this issue? I have been assured by a mechanic that the problem is not dangerous but it would be nice to get it resolved.

The vehicle is a Renault Clio 1.2 2003.
