Hi,
Last year My daughter's Megane 1.5Dci 106BHp had an engine fault, which basically was a bottom end knocking noise ( Big End we think ). We couldn't get a good secondhand engine, so we sold the car for Spares/Repair.
What I did find was that this seemed to be a common problem with the 1.5DCI engine, the suggestion being that it wasn't very robust.
Is this a common problem ?
Was it just restricted to a certain age / batch ( Her car was 2007 ) ?
Has the engine been improved in the later Mk3 meganes or are they just as susceptible to this problem as the mileage rises ?
Any help on this subject would be most appreciated.
